I installed the SPK and activated the Mod in Cryows Install Packer.

The AL Plugin is running as well.

Edit:

Either it is set as a delayed install or moving the mod from the mod directory and making it a fake patch fixed the problem. Hopefully nothing else is broken.

Now a technical question, do I need an advanced Sat in every sector between relays or do I need a relay in every sector or do I just need a relay in the sector where the station is and an advanced sat within range of the actual factory complex.

I placed my Node XL (largest one) in Aladna Hill. I placed a relay in Montalaar and Avarice. I can pick up the complexes in the nodes home sector and in Montalaar, but it will not connect to the PHQ.

I am also not 100% sure the station in the other sector is working right. The station shows up as linked to an intergraded relay in Montalaar, but when I click on the linked stations on the node, the only station listed is the one in sector.

Also, I have an equipment dock and a Military outpost in Avarice, when I try to establish their connection to the relay, it wants to overwrite the connection from the relay to the HUB.... do I need a relay for each station?

Then, can I use this keep an inventory of items at a location as a minimum for selling? I havn't seen the option yet.

Not sure since I run it via the fake patch method. So it should run just fine.

I think I got it working right. The only question now is, how can I be SELL and not buy items on my EQ and traders post?

I don't make nearly enough money selling at the average price and I'd like ot lower it down some but i dont want to buy the AIs junk either.

AI don't sell when price is below average but they will when it is above average >_>

So just take a few hundard off the price and i shouldn't see so many "sellers" and more buyers?

Actually I can take 1 off the avg price and see buyers and no sellers :D Usually I take 5-20 credits off the avg and there are no problems.

You only need Adv Sats to cover the factory/complexes in the sector:
Node links to Node direct
Node links to Relay Direct
Both the Node & Relays need Adv Sats to pin-point the stations/complexes
(In v4 this is going to change as I'll simplify things, I wanted FDN to mimic a infrastructure to support FDN rather than a simples monetary cost)

Docks have there own FDN menu which links into the linked Nodes Wares. Have a look under the in-game station commands

That’s okay, you access the sector stations options via whatever element (Node/Relay) they are linked to.

Not to sure what you mean there. Docks (HQ, EQ & Mil OP) work differently to linking stations. They don’t link to Relays but use them as bridges to see any Node within range. If you only have one Node active it should be the only option.

For setting stock levels at a Dock is under the FDN dock menu, not the Node or Relay menu.

After a few hours of testing I got that all to work. I can set levels in the docks, but I'd love a few additional scripts:

- Auto Add all wares to list (at the hub)
- Fill all wares to (X) percent of full (at dock)
- Auto adjust price of wares at dock (X) percent (0% being min - 50% being average and 100% being max)

You don't know the pain of setting the level of wares at a dock for a billion wares.


I wont need the other dock in Avarice now, so I'll keep that full of items and are trading so I have another cache of stuff, I set a minimum at the PHQ for the stuff I need to weaponize the starship production line.

I get a nasty pause every three minutes though.

I do know the pain but on the other hand I like the various levels since products have different ware sizes and since I use a modified node size that makes a big difference on how much of what ware I can store.

As for the lag every 3 minutes that is FDN running. I don't have a problem with that but my guess is it is probably your CPU. What cpu do you have?

The whole FDN supply cycle is cyclic and is kicked off by the AL Plugin timer event. This is set to every three minutes. There are waits in the while loops to minimise any slow-down (never had the issue but I've a self built water-cooled beast). Initially FDN was small scale but as grown beyond its scope with requested additions.

v4 will work in a totally different way and be a hybrid between timed and task driven events.

It sounds like you have a mass of stations which FDN is looping through?

a per my last post, FDNv4 will be released, when ready & post patch as the patch looks to have changed the TDock file.

Drones not moving to ssdn dock

Hi guys

sorry for postng here but I can't seem to find the answer to the problem

Atm I have a fully self sufficient Keris factory working, This mod makes building these real easy; nice job

Now Im using this with SSDN

My problem is this

my drones are being stockpiled in they system that they are being built, being transferred to the node in that system.

the ssdn is linked to the node in another system only 2 jumps away. I have set a 60 000 manual ware stock level but still they dont move, do I need to put a relay in the system with the ssdn ?

Just started playing around with this this morning so I am a bit noobish on this but love the mod makes station building a bit more pleasant

Mods involved are ssdn and fdn

FDN & SSDN are both my mods, forum rules state you should post your questions on the original post rather than raise a new one. You my get told off my a mod :wink:

Yes FDN will need a Relay to see the SSDN if its in another sector, it will also need to be within coverage of an Adv Sat.

Also make sure the FDN AL plugin is working. But best to post on either the FDN or SSDN posts.

Edit: Just tested and all works okay. Have a read of the FDN Guide linked on the FDN post.

I have 'hardly' anything tied to the node.

A Teladi Supply Chain, an Argon Supply Chain, a Starship Production Chain, two equipment docks, and the HQ. I'm currently in pre-design for my Split Production Chain.

I do have a 4000+ processor, which may be the cause, but I have a new 6000+ on the way.

Are you running any other scripts? I have a C2D 2.8ghz (keep in mind X3 only uses one processor) and I had 2 nodes, about 300 stations, and 3 PHQ going without any lag in my last game.

Also how much ram do you have? I do get pauses whenever I run low on ram and the game is clearing some out.

Good point, I have 6gig in my machine and X3 will happily use over 3gig.

Thoughts on v4

Started to work on the new structure for FDNv4.

I've been playing around and I can make the Node buy wares and teleport them direct from the supplying station to where its needed.

The Node will try and supply locally (from itself), then from any other Node in range, then finally it will search for any NPC station and buy what it cant provide. I could also make it check with other Nodes in range to see if they also have NPC stations with available stock.

Not sure why I didn't think of it before!

Any thoughts on balance? It would make life a lot simpler but is it a step to far.

There is also no reason why it couldn't sell its surplus direct......
