The components you can find multiple times; SETA can be crafted only once

However I agree that it's (fortunately) not the money/combat cheat/exploit it was in previous games, & I'm thankful for that! Like you, I generally use it for long distance travel (esp in the new DLC zones) in the early to mid-game. After I've set up a few stations with their ship + crew requirements I rarely use it: there's plenty enough managng to keep me occupied during long flights :)
Yeah. To me, the first 100 million came pretty slowly and i was leaving the game running through the night multiple times. And i was waiting a long time while stations produced something or my trade ships arrive. I was doing missions while it happened but i only did the most profitable ones. The other i didnt bother and just waited instead, surfed the net or watched youtube instead :). I would have loved SETA back then, back when all money was tied to couple of tradeships or stations budget. Now, with i dont know how many stations (around 40, maybe) i never just leave the game running. There is so much to do, almost always. New stations to build, check for ware shortages. Build ships, hunt crew. I dont even have the time for missions and the 5 million reward it gives is just... meh :D when i have close to 2 billion... i better spend that time to build new station that will give me tons of more money.

Oh and yeah... at start when i asked a ship to take me to another galaxy... i was like Donkey from Shrek (Are we there yet? Are we there yet?) but now, i have so much managing do that im more like... "we are there? already?"

I think i will start doing missions when the new DLC arrives... to get good relations there and to just, have fun. The thing is with me, right now, the combat is actually not very pleasant due to low FPS i have. Using Intel HD 4600 with 720p window. Getting around 10-40 fps depending on location. Saving up for new get gpu release next summer to buy hbm2 14nm beast.

As always, direct developer input is appreciated. I'm hoping i can play the entire game without using it. I really do hope to reach "late-game empire building" and still be engaged in moment to moment gameplay. Im not lacking on patience :)

Hello,
it is allways good to have more otion in games. So build SETA device if you wish.
But remeber one thing (that is not described in Beta 4.0 patch notes):
Everytime when you will enable SETA device then God kills a kitten!

Never played AP; all X3 advice is based on vanilla+bonus pack TC or before: AP has not changed much WRT general advice.

I had Rebirth on release (I pre-ordered it actually) and other than trying some mechanics I've waited a lot before playing really so I can enjoy better patches and DLC's...

After two DLC's and the v4.0 patch I think I've waited enouth.

So I cannot talk much about SETA here, I'm not going to state anything as a fact or as the best point of view but...

I hated SETA in previous games. In previous games I loved "trucking" and enjoying the scenery or the music while I navigated. I understand it's not for everyone but I think I'm gonna stay away from SETA with Rebirth as well.

I still do not have SETA, playing 4.0 and everything is fine, the only time I may be tempted to craft it and use it will be while in zone, as things can go a bit slow because of ships doing their proper pathing and proper docking and whatnot. But then, when I think about it, I am not sure I want to speed up the game and cause issues.

I remember leaving SETA overnight in previous games with a couple of automated traders and a station or two. Still didn't make enough money to afford a mega complex or a fleet of capital ships. In Rebirth you have a lot more options, go in a boarding spree, hack stations, or with the latest difficulty setting, go full scavenger.
