What makes me laugh is, if you type in a huge number, that happens and all of the fire straight away. If you type in a huge, at least in my experience, all your missiles get fires and then it keeps firing for ever until you move sector. Had it happen with a Skirnir. Lagfest.
Yes, that picture is showing the same scene. I tried out typing a very large number, and it just didn't stop firing.
Works with hammer torpedoes and also with flails...

Using an Orca, I build a mine on an asteroid, and then use a tractor beam to pull it... Then I fly directly past your MMBS, but the mine is much bigger as my Orca so it is not able to evade your ship...

The engines of the Nemesis whispered faintly as it neared the Orca. Anyone listening on the radio would have heard muffled swearing as the marinesdropped, one by one, from the airlock onto the green Boron-made hull....

On the bridge, Captain Striker put his feet up and admired the fragments of debris floating past the viewscreen. The last thing he heard was the faint *click* of a disintegrator rifle being cocked...

Oh and @EJ

In which case, one of EJ's local traders passes through the sector, and sees a ship theft in action. He comms the local police, and they say they'll be there in a minute, but he tells them he can deal with it, before launching several barrages of Hammerheads out of his Mistral SF and watching the fireworks.

Bruce was passing through on a trade run in his boron dolphin at the time.

Needless to say in these dangerous sectors he had deployed about ten
fighter drones for self protection.

One of them is struck by a stray Hammerhead from EJs barrage.

Unfortunately EJs ship was too close to the blast and is engulfed in flames.

Onboard my Raptor, patrolling nearby:

:split: "Kamikaze pirate squid drones sighted! Scramble interceptors from Hangar 1!"

The unarmed Dolphin stands no chance as a squadron of Mamba Raiders tracks it, homes in, and unleashes volley after folly of high-energy plasma into its vital systems.

Er what ship are you flying?

I hope you're not holding that monster gun over your shoulder and trying
to power it from your spacesuit :gruebel:

EDIT: Sorry EJ I thought you were summoning a ship when you whistled

*Unfortunately for Imperium3, he flies his Raptor through the center of my Skirnir's debris field when something very strange happens. Every piece of the ship suddenly moves toward the center, cutting through the Raptor's hull and spliting it in half. When the Raptor explodes, my Skirnir comes out of the blast as if it was never destroyed in the first place* If you want to be sure someone's gone, hit them with enough antimatter missles to wipe out an entire fleet! Nothing less can destroy my Skirninr, the Oblivion!

Got a contract to build a Trading station today - easy money.

Persuaded a passing Elephant to pick it up and follow my Thor
to the contruction site.

"Where do you want it gov?"

"Just over there"

"OK unloading now"

"No, wait a minute, not there - there's a ship present. I meant over there"
<Crunch>
"Never mind"

At least the stations not too badly damaged.

Nope, it's just surrounded by thousands of matter-antimatter warheads that were in my ship's hold, so it might not be good to have a battle near there. It doesn't matter either way, the Oblivion will just rebuild itself again after a while

The new Terran Jumpgate project was going well. As the first experimental unit powered up next to the ATF's local HQ (disguised as a humble trading station), the crew hopped into a Baldric transport and left... just in case.

The onboard computer whirred...
"Configuring JumpGate MkI... Energy online. Activating navigational controls... online. Accessing destination map...Map accessed. Please select sector."
Onboard the Baldric, Commander Imperium reached for the control to select the new target - the prototype's counterpart in the Oort cloud - but he was too late.
"System error detected. Emergency override. Selecting jumpgate... jumpgate selected. Identifying destination gate... Gate identified. Target sector: Khaak Sector 001."
Panicking, the crew scrambled to stop the runaway computer, before a thousand purple ships could flood the sector.
"Shutdown request received... Error, authentication failed. Establishing connection to destination gate... Connection established. System abort request received... Error, authentication failed. Opening gateway path... Gateway open."
Desperate, the commander tried the last thing he could: selfdestruct.

"Selfdestruct request received...Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this jumpgate: Program: Selfdestruct sequence Omega 666... Acknowledged. Selfdestruct activated... Warning, this will create an unstable wormhole... Abort request denied... Selfdestructing... *static*"

As the Baldric left at full speed, the jumpgate was torn apart in a series of explosions, leaving a rapidly growing wormhole. It consumed a nearby debris field first, then the ATF research base, then finally a passing Elephant and its Thor escort before collapsing, leaving the Baldric crew relieved and searching for a change of underwear.

"Do it!"
We had waited for a long time. Now, we have spotted someone. Me and the Marines are directly flying to the Baldric which hasn't aquired us. We cut through the hull, and then make our way to the bridge. Finally, imperium now hears the sound of a weapon being cocked, and I say: "Last time YOU were at MY ship. But now, it's the other way round" and I smile. "But I won't shoot you now." I say, and then I use the transporter device to move to my heavy centaur prototype.
Then, I fire the installed mass drivers and the projectiles directly get through the bridge main windows, and destroying everything on the bridge. After that, the ship explodes due to the systems no longer being controlled.

*As Imperium's ship is destroyed by Striker, a wormhole opens up and spews out the debris field consumed by the collapse of the jumpgate and the debris reforms the Oblivion* Who just tried to get me stuck in a wormhole? *Sees Striker's Centaur* Didn't I destroy you already?!? *Fires 5 shadow missles at the Centaur, wiping every particle of the ship and its crew from existance with their antimatter warheads* That should work. *continues preparing the "surprise" planned for everyone*

Having an invincible ship does make things a bit repetitive, don't they? Although right now, it's getting me to come up with ever more bizarre ways to destroy it for good :P

Riding my mighty space dragon (XTC, I believe) I ride towards the Oblivion, dodging Shadows left, right and centre. Settling on the superstructure, the dragon proceeds to devour the ship piece by piece until nothing is left. Then I set course for the nearst known black hole...

The Oblivion isn't "invincible" because it can be destroyed at least temporarily. The trick is that as long as a single piece is left, it will restore any missing pieces and reform. There may be one way, which I hinted at the first time the Oblivion reformed, but you would have to look back at that post, figure out what a specific line means, and hope that the Oblivion doesn't come back. Master of the Blade is probably delegating the job of ensuring the Oblivion's destruction to a minion as we speak, considering he was the first to destroy it. However, I have a few interesting tricks up my sleeve for when somebody finally figures it out

A space dragon, yikes.

While he considers what to do he muses on Striker304s boarding efforts.
Pretty impressive but he wouldn't have wasted a boarding party on a TS
himself. Still standing around won't slay the dragon.

Using his Mobile Mining Ship, Bruce goes off to mine some ice.

We now have full cargo of very cold H20, and a crew scared witless
by the sight of those leathery wings flapping up and down.

Telling the crew to leave it to him, he connects a fire hose to the main
outlet valve on the water tanks.

Turning on the main valve he directs the entire cargo of almost
frozen water down the monsters throat.

With it's fires out, he then uses the ships turret lasers to finish it off.

Sadly, due to the fact that you killed the dragon before Imperium could send the debris of my ship into a black hole, things get interesting again. *the dragon spits out the debris of the Oblivion shortly before it dies and the Oblivion reforms between the dragon and brucewarren's Mobile Mining Ship, directly in the line of fire. After getting hit, the Oblivion wipes the TL from existance and resumes preparing for the suprise*

A Valhalla appears in sector near the oblivion, and fires it's entire PSP bank!

The awesome power of twelve point singularities creates a micro-black hole, consuming the oblivion! Before it can reform, the black hole evaporates due to hawking radiation!

The Valhalla is severly damaged by an unexpectedly large energy release!

The spacefly gets collected by a passing Caiman, and fried into a deliciously tasty meal for the ship's captain. Spacefly makes a lovely dessert after a good heap of Krispy Fried Boron :D
