My auto-update for "Lite" failed also I didn't record the error message but it said something about administrator/documents and settings and gave an option to ignore the error and continue, which I did, but the update would not finish.


Now when I try to re-start the auto-updater it errors with an error "Invalid Arguments: Missing Filename" and refuses to start.

Right click on the shortcut you use to start the game and then click properties, it will show you the path to the executable file.

the default directory is usually, c:\program files\egosoft\X Plugin Manager

but you can set any location when you install it, so it depends what path you chose during installation

there is no chance for an update to the ship creator, the source code was lost so no way to make any changes.

a new version will be available eventually however
I have used the Ship creator that comes with the current version of Plugin Manager to edit ships (although these were user made ships for Reunion). I get the error msg saying X3 Reunion is not installed but I hit cancel and edit away.

What does the XSP converter do? It seems to me it lets you choose what weapons a X3 Reunion ship can use in Terran Conflict... is that right?

the ship creator is just the X3 Reunion one, there isn't a new one yet.
it still works for some things, but the customise ship option wont work too well without X3R as it needs to load the data from the game.

you can do things manually like adding files, importing TShips, etc


The Convertor converts the XSP's previously created, or created by the ship creator to the new format.

the new format allows you to set seperate wepaon masks for both games, and for the turrets, which you can assign in the Converter.

this means that you can install the ship into both X3R and TC and it will use the correct weapons for each game

Thanks for the clarifications Cycrow. I only use the Ship Creator 'balance ship' function (to tweak speed and cargo size value etc etc) which appears to work perfectly. Tho I'm about to start using the X3 Editor 2 for that as it has more control.

yeah balance ship only does minor adjustments to certain stats.

you can use the X3 Editor, then jsut save and import the new TShips into the ship creator.

the customize ship options is what allows you more control, but that is limited to X3R

ok, got it. thanks. would you recommend i uninstall the old version first, or just install the new version over it? don't wanna to mess up the current spks i have running in my game.

Is there any errors in using UniversalBestBuysSells_251.spk with the plugin installer.

I install the package, but nothing appears any different in the x3: TC game...

Why would this be?

Sorry i didn't get back before...RL .. got in the way :)

Couple of Q's

1. Do you have ***modified*** at the bottom of the Pilots menu ? If not the Script Editor is not activated.
This can also be checked by looking about half way down the ship Command Menu for Script Editor s , if the Script editor is active both those will be there.

2. What Operating System are you using ?

cycrow, just too let you know i have problems with the t files. sometimes i cant see the name of the product, just the command name. this happens when i load x3tc.
btw im using your PMLite beta. my sys is vista sp2. dont know if that helps.

when you close the manager and reopen it, does it display what you have installed previously or not ?

in that thread you say that when you reopen the plugin manager there is nothing there, but in this one you say that there was ?

For some reason, it is there now.. maybe cause i was playing around with the beta.. anyway, it is now being displayed within version 1.10

Any ideas?

So, I'm not sure if this is a problem with the spk file, or the plugin manager, but when I install scripts, sometimes they show up in game, and sometimes they don't. I'm using the Steam version of the game, so that *might* have something to do with it. The only scripts that don't work right are yours... advanced jumpdrive, and advanced thruster control... they both show up in the stations as xx_wares_xxx (can't remember the exact name :? ). Also, as a *very* minor bug, your advanced thruster control install pop-up (in the plugin manager) has the same description text as command queing.

Another question... what are the yellow circles by certain scripts in the plugin manager? I have one next to the hotkey manager, equipment research, improved boarding, community plugin manager, and salvage claim software ... all yours :o

edit: I'm using 1.10 of the plugin manager... forgot to put that in

yea, I have EMP. I got it, and the community plugin config, hotkey manager, and ware manager all from one of your previous posts... can't remember which one though ;)

If you want, I can list all of the scripts I have ... there's 21 total, including the ones I mentioned above (in this post).
