Sorry to ask a noob question but is there a way I can download all of them in one file and install the ones I want? I like all the ships and will probably upload all of them but I don't want to download each ship (too many).

Edit: Belay my last. I did it the old fashioned way and downloaded each file. I guess it makes sense that way each person can just pick and choose what they want. I wanted all of them so it would've been cool to download the whole file.

Anyway, so far, my two favorite ships are the Concordia (awesome depiction of the movie version) and the Morningstar (looks a lot like a real life fighter).
Thanks for the great work!

It's probably possible, though I've been out of the loop for quite some time.

If anyone would be willing to make such a ship pack I would gladly put it up for download on 4shared.

Two days ago I was playing with your ships but I noticed that the Excalibur and the Thunderbolt VII didn't have any textures on them, those ships where just black figures at all (which could still suffer damages and eventually being destroyed).

I downloaded again the .xsp files and now they run fine.

I just wanted you to know that.

Oh, and once I bought a F/A 76 Longbow but it was invisible (and invincible): the only was to destroy it from outside was to use the cheat "destroy target".
Yet, even if I was surprised when I saw it, now I'm not worried since I've seen the same thing on "official" ships as well (two Paranid Perseus M3 ships)

EDIT: if you like Sartha, I can translate the description of each fighter in Italian (code 39 for scripts).
Let me know if you're interested. :)

It's possible my version of the ships is outdated now since I haven't kept them up to date... I just don't have the time to work on these right now @.@

It's nice to know however that people are still downloading and using these ships. As for a translation, I suppose it wouldn't hurt, though in reality most of the descriptions are "placeholders" since I didn't want to leave that field empty. It's possible some of it isn't even accurate. I was planning on re-doing all the descriptions when I had finished importing all the wing commander ships into X3... but obviously that got stalled @.@ I don't even have access to my 3d models right now... Not that I had all the ships anyways.

TBH, I downloaded only WC3 ships and a couple of other ones. As long as these ships are fine, I'm fine too! :P

If you think you can put your hands on those models again, fine: I'll wait (since now I'm translating two Cycrow's scripts). 8)

The T.C.S. Victory which appeared in Wing Commander III is a Concordia type carrier?

The Victory is a Yorktown-class Light Carrier. In my description of the Concordia-class carrier somewhere in this thread, I mentionned that Origins re-used the Victory's 3d model for the Concordia-class fleet carrier in Wing Commander IV, this was done to save time and money instead of coming up with a new model entirely. As such, the Concordia is a little bigger than the Yorktown but carries more than double the fighter compliment. That's about the only serious difference between the two ships. My version has no size difference, but the fighter compliment and a few other stats have been tweaked so that the Concordia-class is a stronger vessel all around.

Sartha, which version of XTM did you use to test your ships?
Latest XTM available is 0.7.5. :)

Guess they haven't updated XTM in a long time because that's the same version I used.

FWIK they stopped working on X³R-XTM, at least for now; they're focusing on XTC (X³TC-XTM). :)

I got my hands on X3:TC, I'm installing now... I'll see if I can successfully import my ships into TC... I don't foresee any problems, but you never know when going from one game to another.

Alright, I've succeeded in porting one of my ships to Terran Conflict as a mod, due to current tool limitations I'll have to port all of my ships as a single mod instead of as ship packs.

I'll get right on it as time permits. I doubt I'll have time to make new ships before next year and even then... >.> So the least I can do is make my current ships accessible to both Reunion and Terran Conflict fans!

HOOAH sartha! good news!
I'd suggest you to open a dedicated topic into X³TC S&M section to announce that. And since you're there you could also ask if there are a couple of tweaks which you can do in order to improve your ships...

After some importing and testing, I've found that several of the ships have severely screwed up textures when brought into Terran Conflict... Now I don't know if that's a direct result of using the models from the ship packs instead of re-importing from scratch... or if it's simply the way the game reads the models and textures that's slightly different from Reunion.

It's dissapointing, but oh well...

Sartha

Any chance of a WC2 Concordia model (no idea on the ships make but that's what it was designated as) in the future for X3R & X3TC?
It's my favourite capitol ship of the entire saga.
In fact what are the chances of the entire range of vessels from the entire saga?

@ The_Lost_Marauder,

To fix the problems, I'd have to get a copy of 3ds max to fix it at it's source. I unfortunately don't know how to fix it, or even if it's possible to fix it from the current ship packages.

@ Knight Shadow Wolf

The orriginal idea was to import all the wing commander ships from 1 to 4 including Armada and Privateer... Then maybe import the ones from Prophecy and Secret Ops... and again, maybe the ones from Privateer 2.

In the end however, I ran out of time, and lost access to 3ds max. As that is a very expensive program, it isn't feasible for me to get it legally, and I have had no success importing ships from gmax. (especially that most of my models are in 3ds format.)

I hope to get back to importing ships one day, if I do, they will be imported for X3:TC, since it's easy enough to convert from TC to R... easier even than the opposite.

What about GMax? I think there were other programs that were compatible with the Import/Export software that is needed for this sort of work!
