Hi all.

I'm having a problem where I have this script running on my HQ. The problem now is, any Commercial Representative I have gathering materiels for the HQ's ship building and weapons stockpiles constantly remove their upgrades whenever they land - it only keeps the commodity logistics MKI and MKII and one other software. I can watch it happen every time. I've ensured that Automatic Upgrading is off. Why won't my Commercial Representatives stop unloading all their upgrades?

Plus, though I bought the Engine Tuning license, the mod will not automatically tune engines - I have to do it by hand. Further, in the summary section it does not list the Engine Tuning license as being installed, though I did buy it and I cannot buy it again because it says its installed. This applies at both my HQ and my Equipment dock - in both cases after I install the license it will not automatically install engine upgrades. When I do install upgrades, it lists all the upgrades installed but then says that the engine tuning was not installed because I don't have the license! Any help is appreciated - this script's concept is very helpful.

BTW, where can I find an uninstaller for this script? I'd kinda like to uninstall it completely and start from scratch to see if I am doing something wrong. Thanks again.

Yes, I am aware of both the problems you stated, unfortunately Commodities is down to the fact that if you buy the license for an upgrade it adds it as a product to the HQ, thus when your Trader docks the commodities system will automatically offload all upgrades that you have bought licenses for, I believe ChemODun solved this problem by saying that if you download the official version (not the one that comes with the community add on) then this does not happen. There is no way I can stop this as it is the commodities script not mine that does this. However if you don't add licenses at your HQ but use a trading dock or equipment dock instead you should not have a problem.
The second problem lies with bad scripting that needs to be fixed at my end, I will do this tomorrow, I am going the pub now :)
As for uninstalling, there isn't one that does a full uninstall unfortunately, that requires alot of scripting, because of the amount of globals added and products added to stations, I will make soon though.

Thank you, I do appreciate your response. I figured out to do what you suggested - I set up a nearby Equipment Dock to be my outfitting station, which is actually a satisfactory alternative because now my Equipment dock acts just like the AI equipment docks, so I'm happy. This is an excellent mod and it does go a long way to removing a lot of the tedium of large-scale fleet outfitting.

I tip my hat to you good sir for the fine work which you have already done. Your utility is an excellent addition to the game, and I will always have it running from now on.

Lol, thankyou very much, to be honest when I first designed the script it was going to be used only on equipment docks and trading docks.
It was meant to make them more useful, the only reason I added them to HQ and shipyards was because I had a few requests for this, I know alot of people do like using it at the HQ because it makes upgrading any ship they make very easy.

UPDATED

Changes from 3.039 - 3.040
-> Fixed problem with engine tunings not being installed
-> Fixed shields being added when the shield bays are already full
-> Removed log of equipment added from sublog to stop flooding of log book which increases time it takes to open

This should fix all outstanding problems

Sorry to double post but I would like opinions on this before I go changing the script.

Currently you can use HQs to upgrade ships from as well as EDs/TDs and SYs. This was first meant to be used only on EDs and TDs, I would like to know do people think I should change it back to this method, there are a 2 reasons

1) If you try and use the DUM on a HQ with Commodities script running, it will off load all upgrades you have licenses for
2) ED & TD are now useless again as you can just use your headquarters to upgrade ships, and the entire point of the script was really to give these stations some purpose in the game.

Use the AL engine to allow players to toggle PHQ/SY on and off.

If the AL plugin is on then the script operates on PHQ/SY, if the toggle is off then the script operates as you intend (eq dock & trade station only).

This way players can choose the method they prefer ;)

Have the plugin default to PHQ/SY off, easy as pie.

Hi, I went from 3.039 to 3.045 and I have some ReadText instead of the actual text. I think 3.039 said something about Russian text, but I'm running the Spanish version. With 3.039 everything displayed correctly in English.

I've tried to disable the script, remove it, and reinstall it again with no luck. ANy clue?

Download the latest t file, put this in your t folder, you can find the latest english t file for the dock upgrade manager on my script list, also delete the russian version, it sounds like its trying to read from that instead of the English one and because the russian isn't as upto date it may cause problems.

Ok that is wierd, cycrows installer changed the t in one of the t = lines i know it was his installer because I corrected the problem and re packed and yet it did the same again to the same location, must be a hitch with something, I am trying to get round it now, though I think I may have to upload the t file separately

UPDATED

Changes from 3.045 - 3.046
->Fixed read errors in .spk caused by Cyrows script installer
->Fixed Al texts

Don't really know why this was happening, but basically when storing the t file, cycrows installer made a slight change to the t file, where it added a breaker square thing that over writ one letter, I fixed by 'nudging the square into an unimportant area outside the T locations

Using XFP MOD I can't get Dock manager to work, I see show all licenses for a hot key (along with other text..show licences?) and stop autostockers etc (same repeat commands wanting hot keys) but it dies not show up under equipemnt docks command slot. Using 3.046.

I did have it working before XFP using 3.026.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

*EDIT* Seems to work after I turned on AL

Lol, yes it should show up but be blanked out, you need to activate via the AL plugins, I wanted them turned off to start with so if people wanted them on then they had to do it themselves.

They are always on for EDs and TDs

If I want to use it in my Teladi Equipment Dock I have to enable the plugin for both SY and HQ :?

Would it be that hard to be able to buy licenses for new wares already present in the race's equipment docks (ie: the advanced jumpdrive)?
