Yes that should work NZ. I don't believe these mods conflict.

No they don't conflict, just make sure you are starting a new game.

Reporting back in after giving it a go.

I didn't start a new game, but I did however load an old 1.2.1 savegame in, then immediatly resaved it into 1.3...
Reloaded X3 and then compared before and after shots of Emperor Mines and CBSW..

What an amazing difference :) :) :) - Now I can actually see the space around me and not a whole pile of rocks...

Works perfectly, Thank you very much for the mod..

(I just presuming here that the less enemy will work as it was part of the mod too)

I see you can pickup the smaller pieces with your ore collector just like the mobile mining process. Then you get ore or silicon. You can make the pieces smaller if needed with guns ore mobile mining laser.
Tested it after I checked and changed “x3_universe_v13_patch.xml”
There you see asteroid type: ore/silicon and the amount of ore/silicon (resource amount). So the smaller pieces can be useful for mobile miners.
It’s a shame that egosoft didn’t give us an indication when the object can be picked up (size!). So you bounce allot against the asteroids who are to large or you shoot the ore pieces to dust.

so there's absolutely no way of getting rid of roids with a 1.3 savegame ?

If anyone finds a way, let me know so I can take my original savegames out of hiding.

In the meantime, I have restarted using Blackrain's less asteroids mod and its working quite well. See the Diary of a *Spoiler* post in the other forum... :twisted:

I guess I was lucky in that before I ever install an update I always make a complete backup of all my save games in a folder (eg: pre 1-3)
That way I can always go back if things don't work out :)

There is no way as far as I know to do it in a 1.3 save, the asteroids have already been generated and are there already, you can't remove them once they are there.

what really bugs me in this is that some of these roids show up in the sector map.

also does anyone know if these roids respawn ? coz you can go around with a GPSG and just destroy them all.

Also it wouldn't be so bad if you had an ore collector just going and picking them all up.

Asteroids in the original game respawn, so yes the asteroids respawn but the difference is that in the mod there is less, so less will respawn. The whole point of this mod is to help people who have problems running the game with the asteroids, if you do not have problems running the game with the asteroids then you do not need this.

Is there a mod for 1.3 that leaves the enemy respawn rate the same but reduces the fire power and accuracy of enemy to that of 1.2.1?

Yea I understand what you mean. I don't really have a problem with the FPS.

What would be very neet though would be for example if you had an Missile or Shield complex that needs Ore and instead of buying it from an Ore Mine you could just assign your Ore Collector (Demeter Miner) to collect wares (Ore) in the roid field for Free instead. The only roid that would not be collectable would be the real Asteroids that are not part of the field.

Crosswire it is definately possible to do that, and actually rather easy.

@Miller -- That would be a good idea but I am not sure if it is possible. If it were it would require a complex script I think.

Any chance of knocking one up for us (not so good at combat pilots?) I like the extra combat but found the Khaak hard enough in 1.2.1, in 1.3 they walk all over me.

I know someone has produced a mod that gives less asteroids and less enemies, I just want one that gets rid of all these f*****g asteroids that are once again slowing up the game!

I need the less asteroid script but when I click on the link it opens up Badongo.com where it then say's click here to download "lessroids.zip" and then opens a upload page? I cannot see the download?
Any advice would be nice cause i'm stuck on mission 5 I think escorting three mamoths in Ore Belt and my FPS are down to about 6.
And if I'm blind or stupid please don't hesitate to tell me. As long as you help.

However, the LessRoids mod will only work on a NEW 1.3 game or old 1.2.0.1 game. Good luck.
