Sorry so slow to answer.
No, the script checks for ammo before using them.

The signed version will be out very very very soon.

Most of the delay has been mine, not Burianek or ticaki's. I had to write two new AL plugins, and an entirely new readme. Plus I rewrote the entire core firing algorithm that is a fairly complex dual task track and fire. And... I wrote a book on scripting while all that was going on.

I'm lucky I still have a wife after all that. :)

Burianek was very helpful brokering the agreement between ticaki and myself on the script signing back when I was still learning ticaki's unique dialect of English. :) And ticaki worked overtime finding the holes in my system. I may have written the book on scripting (heh - I can actually say that now), but I still had a lot of holes in it.

This is why a good software QA system NEVER EVER has the developer do the QA on his or her own software. The same thinking process that leads one to miss something writing the software will cause you to miss something in testing it.

Anyways, look for an announcement in, oh, about 3 minutes. :)

Ok, I'm sure by the time anyone reads this you will already know Version 3.00 - the signed version - is finally out.

I had originally planned on having an unsigned version with extra upgrade code in it for people who had 2.11 or earlier. I decided against this, as it required that I either maintain two versions simultaneously, or that ticaki would have to rip out a whole bunch of code every time a new release was going to get signed.

What I have done is to create a special upgrade script for those who installed an earlier version. So if you are upgrading from one of the earlier, unsigned versions, then you will want to download these special upgrade instructions and script. Read the instructions included in the zip file. It shouldn't be a painful upgrade - the script does most of the work.

A special thank-you goes to ticaki. There is a little under 3000 lines of code in this plugin, and ticaki went over all of it in a line-by-line code review. In many cases, more than once, as I would have some great idea and completely change something after he had reviewed it. During this sometimes he requested changes I didn't agree with. We had some interesting debates. Nine times out of ten, though, he was right. You are all getting a cleaner and more bullet-proof product because of his work. Thank-you!

There are a /lot/ of changes since 2.10. Have fun everyone. :)

The ware slots seem to have fixed prices that can not be changed. We seem to be running out of slots in the medium price range. The alternative might have been 7.50 Cr. :P

For those of you who want more information on this without having to install it to get it, you can download just the documentation and read it. The PDF documentation has a full change log. If you want to know if upgrading from 2.1 is worth it, get the documentation and look at all the changes since 2.1 and decide from that. I think it's about 2 pages of info. :)

Enjoy. ;)

I was wondering if anyone has seen an increase in the captured vessel count when employing the aegis system? With the increased AI of the turrent controllers(gunnery crews)this is suppose to be possible. Anyone?

Sincerely

The price has gone from 2.9 million to 54 million??????

Tell me this is a one-time-only, and not per ship, otherwise it's totally ridiculous.

A Boron Ray is only 44 million plus change.

The readme says that with AEGIS installed, the salary is 4500 credits per crewman per hour (as I understand it). In the change log, it's stated as being 5000 per hour. Which is correct?

Also, 15 crew per turret, plus 50 support crew. That's 140 crew per hour per ship. That's either 630,000 or 700,000 per hour, depending on which figure is correct. Per ship. I'll say that again, just so it sinks in for me a bit more. 700,000 credits per hour per ship!! After the 54 million to buy it.

When this script came out, I equipped all my M2's (37 of them) with it. It really is that good. Now, it would cost me just under 2,000,000,000 to re-equip, plus an extra 26,000,000 per hour for the crews.

I can't even do it piecemeal, since I get an incoming message, saying that due to lack of crew, each ship can't use the existing turret control.

I get the money I paid credited back. Big Deal. Do I also get back all the money I paid for weapons that are now useless? Imagine you buy a car for £10,000. Six months later, they bring out a new version, and, not only does it cost nearly 30 times more, they forceably remove your old one, whether you like it or not.

I laughed when I purchased the military transport information, and was told my new liaison was Mr "Mak Fisty". Ten seconds later, when I got multiple incoming messages, telling me the weapons on all my ships were going off line because of a lack of crew, I realised the irony of that name. I'd been bent over, and "Mr Fisty" had well and truly paid me a (most unwelcome) visit.

The gunnery AI is, imho, one of (if not the) best scripts I've come across. The pricing policy, has, however, as far as I'm concerned, totally ruined it.

Does anyone know if I can reinstall 2.11 back over the top of it, cos I'm after doing that as soon as possible.
