Thanks - as much as I enjoy x-universe fiction there Probably won't be more. I'm writing other stuff for publication now, or trying to anyway.argon dragon wrote:what can you say, the novels have got better with each chapter. have missed this series since the end. is there a chance that's there's another one somewhere in the pipe line

nice
u wanna know how good I think your story is?
well let's put it this way. I gathered every peice of the trilogy from various sites on the net (can't remember them all) and pasted them into word. now I've been hooked staying on my PC 'till sometimes gone midnight each day for hell knows how long.
Can't wait to buy all the books then it'll be easy for me to read the whole thing whenever I want.
The ending definately did not dissapoint it was immense. Pitty u say u'll be doing know more X stuff but now whenever I go into waterstones i'm gonna look for the author "STEVE MILL"
P.S. sad it's over all choked up now...don't laugh I'm serious...no really I am

also
I know I keep banging on about this and it must be pissing people off by now but Steve as an experienced writer what would you say is wrong with my story "The Deep Void"? (apart from the fact that it's non X related)
Do u think it's good considering I'm only 14?

I guessed from the father/son theme you were probably around that age but regardless of that, to me your writing does show great promise. I particularly like your dialogue - there are people on my univerisity creative writing course who haven't mastered the art of different voices for characters.vader146 wrote:I know I keep banging on about this and it must be pissing people off by now but Steve as an experienced writer what would you say is wrong with my story "The Deep Void"? A really good book to get from a library is Stephen King's 'On Writing' - it's very autobiographical and talks a lot about learning to write when he was young.
You've shown imagination and a raw grasp of story-telling and to me that's more than enough to build on - you should definitely keep on writing - and reading of course, looking at how published authors develop stories. And if you can - get your hands on the Frey books - How to Write a Damn Good Novel (english titles may differ) - they contain so much writers need to learn - learning it from him rather than painful trial and error makes sense.
I'll look out for what you write in future and let you know what I think but, at the risk of being old and patronising, you've got your whole life ahead of you and given the ability you've already shown you can be a writer if you want to put in the work. No doubt about that.
Steve

But 'twerent finished on the disk. I made the 'mistake' with resurgence of reading it in installments, I really struggled to get into it that way. Now I get to start from the beginning and go the whole way through. Yay!

And I've just noticed I got a mention on spaceritual, even if you can't remember my forum moniker.
It's nice to think that my pedantry has been useful to someone.
Oh, and I am not worthy.
