As we get into the late game (i.e. you have a wharf of your own and maybe a shipyard too) and ship production ramps up, we also tend to see ship losses racking up fairly quickly since we're now able to build large fleets and get into major battles. Losses are inevitable, and while the ships get replaced I often find there are hordes of space suits floating around containing the pilots and crews that managed to eject from my ships. I do try to rescue them (either with whatever ships are nearby, or a dedicated "medevac" fleet of a few frigates with the fastest engines I can fit), but that leads to me having a huge amount of unassigned crew sitting in my personnel list which is awkward to deal with with the tools we have right now. So, I had a couple of ideas:
1. Allow selection of multiple crew in the "Personnel Management" view - this would let me redeploy a whole bunch of them at once to a ship that needs crew, instead of one at a time. Be honest, if you've got 30+ unassigned crew you're probably not going through them one at a time to find a ship that needs crew and assign them to it - I'm not, anyhow. Naturally if multiple crew are selected, the only options allowed when assigning them should be Service Crew or Marines.
2. Allow us to see which ships are in need of crew - maybe via a filter on the "Property Owned" view, just showing undercrewed (service crew only) ships, ideally displaying current, max and missing (max-current) crew.
3. Allow crew in the unassigned pool with a Pilot rating of 1 star or higher to be assigned to a "Pilot Pool" in a wharf or shipyard owned by the player, and pilots from that pool will be assigned as captains as ships get built (either via selecting them in the ship building screen, or just automatically in random order - though in that case maybe only on ships built for the player faction, so the NPC factions don't steal our pilots).
Not sure how possible/complex this stuff is, but if it's possible it might be a pretty nice improvement to crew management.

Crew Management is a big part of my RP with X4. In this game play (which is less than 40 hours old), I've only had a couple of ships destroyed and rescuing crew members was not a big issue but as I progress and larger ships inevitably get blown up, it will be much more tedious.
