This mod is a really nice idea :)

Will it work in 3.53 ? After installing the main Mission Computer, if i then install the removal mod, I get a red extension saying the Mission Computer mod is missing.

Thx to clarify,

I have used it on 3.53 today without problems. I'll have to check whether the dependency is somehow broken. But I definitely did not change anything, so at least I have no idea why that should be the case.

hI Cyberfuzzy,
it works now. i've just restarted XR and all is OK showing the mods on. I really don't know what happened before ??
Very nice and convenient mod, my best congrats to you :)
Especially the sector and zone preview is useful.

Cheers,

MOD Feedback to Cyberfuzzy:

I have 2 main reasons to use this excellent mod:

1)
In the vanilla, the game doesn't pause while reading the mission briefing, so I'm exposed to police scan which I wouldn't otherwise. My workaround was always to quicksave and reload if this happens.
MC makes me reading all this stuff with ease far away from station.

2)
In the vanilla this is much of a trouble: The briefing shows with a perspective view of the screen instead of the plain 2D screen with larger fonts, the fonts in perspecticve are too small, it looks nice but it's a pain to read.

Unfortunately, for 2), in MC this is also the case when in the cockpit, and not so when in space or on stations.

I would HIGHLY enjoy to use only the 2D screens. Can I change it in the XML ?

Hi XenonSurf,

those screens are not from this mod, the mod adds only one screen, which is the mission list. Everything else is vanilla content.

You can however change that behavior in the options. Under Settings/Game Settings toggle HUD Detail Monitor to on. All displays will be changed so they are displayed is they are when docked (i.e. just up front, no perspective, without turning your head towards Yisha). If you prefer having the displays in the middle of the ship then feel free to edit as much as you like.

Wow, that's good news for me, thanks a lot, Cyberfuzzy :) :)
My workaround was going in the crew's quarter everytime I read a mission, but this dance will now finish, he he...

Hello,
I have recently subscribed to this mod and I see it active in the extension list. I cannot however locate a mechanic that carries the mission computer. I am running version 3.6. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just to check, did you look in the Software list? It should be available alongside the Trade Computer.

Yes, I checked under software. The only options I see are

* trade computer
* targeting system

If not tried already, changing zones may help. Maybe the mod only applies to newly-spawned Mechanics.

That should not be the case since quite some time. But I'll look into it, maybe something has changed with 3.60.

Edit: There is indeed some problem that leads to existing traders not having the mission computer.
I noticed the following:
- On a new gamestart the mission computer was immediately available.
- On my main save it wasn't, but after changing zones it was again.

Did you save your game with a previous version of X:Rebirth after installing the mod but before looking for the software at a trader (and then checked after upgrading the game)? Or was it an existing save and you checked immediately after installing the mod? It may not matter much to you, because by the time I have a fix you have long since changed zones and therefore have the software, but it may be an important piece of information for me in locating the problem.

Edit 2: Well, forget the first edit...
I was unlucky enough that the only trader I looked at was a plot-specific trader, these seem to use another script and therefore never have the mission computer. This could be a bug or feature, but is most likely no new behaviour.
When checking with another save I found a regular trader, he showed no problems at all.

So to find the real problem a few questions:
- Do you use any other mods?
- How many / which mechanics did you try? The chances of trying one that is plot-specific are pretty slim, but as I mentioned, it might happen.

Greetings

Yes, I've also sometimes noticed missions from the previous zone (though not always), but unfortunately there's not much I can do about that, as they sometimes do not get their cleanup-cue activated for some time.

I already did some work to display the station and zone in the mission list, but unfortunately I'm missing the time required, as this requires some non-trivial modifications to the UI.

Hello,
Can someone upload Mission Computer Software Removal Tool on Google Drive, please?
I can't download it for XR VR from Steam workshop.

Thank you!

Update: I managed to reinstall and get it working.
