I am supplying the Terran Mammoth with the requested goods ( after making the choice not to reveal them) but it , and all the other Terran vessels have turned red. Is this part of the plot or have I done something bad?

How much trading do you have going on? Any trading with the Commonwealth races can rapidly drop your rep with them. Anything that gives you a rep bump with any commonwealth race will rapidly deplete it as well.

The only ones safe to "do business with" and be on good terms with are the Teladi, NMMC, Goners and Terracorp. I watched my rep go from 2 green bars to full neutral while traveling from Brennan's Triumph to Jupiter. This was because of all the trading I had going on.

One other note, check your friend / foe settings. Its possible it got toggled on accident.

It gets worse, I managed to deliver all the required wares, which wasn't easy as the Terran ships attacked me all the time! Then the 'battle' I managed to get through that unscathed. Lost a bit of rep but not too bad, but the whole universe is red to me despite my positive rep with all but the Terrans. I can land and trade at red stations (most of them) but not Terran. I can't even land at the Orbital Patrol Base to collect my gifted ship. I've checked the global commands and I am friends with all the commonwealth races. Totally at a loss as to what to do!

Well that's weird, I just loaded the game again (I was in mid space in Brennans Triumph) and I ordered the Kogarasu Maru to follow me (thus negating the need to land) entered the ship and jumped to Argon space. It was then I noticed everything had gone blue again. I don't know if it was claiming the ship or just reloading the game that did it but it's all back to normal. All I have to do now is increase my rep with the Terrans somehow without entering Terran space. I think you were right about my trading decreasing my Terran rep. Thanks for the advice.

The issue will be that the ship itself has marked the races as enemies. In the global command console, you can broadcast the friend/foe settings to all ships which should fix it
