Important Suggestion! Sector management and other
Hi guys, this has been a pressing issue for a long time, please implement management of your own sectors. I recently passed a law prohibiting the transportation of raw materials in my sector, hoping that my rich deposits would be mine alone, which caused a big conflict with friendly factions, because they continued to mine. What about the fee for installing stations in my space? I am ready to think through and provide a design document to consider many options for using the space.
Among the options:
- Taxation in your sectors and not so
- Fuel for ships made from gases - will increase functionality and the need for resources. For war, logistics will now be 100 percent needed.
- Food and water, as well as oxygen - in ships
- Ammunition for turrets and guns - each shot is worth its weight in gold.
- Ship crew management? Make a more tactile and cozy atmosphere on ships?
- Radio? (Trackers or radio simulator and?)
- and a lot of other.

Writing your message in extra large text won't give your suggestion a higher priority.

You want to pay tax before you can even think of placing a station into space of factions? Perhaps a toll too, for just trespassing?
The poor logistics does get the NPC factions killed already now. You want them to drop like flies when you merely look at their direction? Is that fun?

I wouldn't mind some bridge trolls...

More love for sector owners would be nice in my book. Would also be nice if there would be more interaction with sector owners. For example some recognition if one does supply a sector really good (when building in NPC sectors) or earn some awards when making a sector safer. And of course, should be available for both the player as well as the NPC factions. Building in pirate space should have some appropriate interactions as well (raids / threats / protection money).

There's very rare situation NPC builds station to sector you own. Usually stations have been there already. Only exceptions are Kha'ak and Xenon and anyway they don't pay fee no matter what.Efemius wrote: ↑Thu, 17. And as player you are not forced to pay plot fee either. Then you just need be ready to take reputation losses and attacks as penalty from your behaviour.
What comes to setting wares as illegal - even Maja Dust, Spacefuel, Spaceweed and Stimulants are illegal those can be still transported and sold around the galaxy. There's just risk that if get scanned then local authorities don't like it and it causes fight / reputation loss. Same with food stuff in VIG & RIP space as VIG operates as police authority.
If you want restrict NPCs operations and limit where they can build what if they would do same to you? For example Teladi would prevent you mine in Grand Exchange? Would you like from that? I think not if you have stations there which would require those minerals / gasses.
Making things more complicate does not always make game more fun. There's already management with large empire and if it requires even more micromanaging not only stations but also ships... No...

As someone who occasionally needs readers, I didn't mind.
Brute force and ignorance solves all problems, just not very efficiently.
If brute force isn't working, then you aren't using enough.

Crossing borders with goods and failing to pay duties should count as smuggling, shouldn’t it? The current economy system in X4 is far too basic and forgiving — there are no mining taxes, no tariffs, and no costs tied to trade activities. Introducing another layer of complexity would greatly enhance the depth and realism of X4’s economic gameplay.jlehtone wrote: ↑Thu, 17.
