Hardly a sale, and hardly worth it. just a cash grab.

With price increases we're getting to the point where even -50% sales are no longer attractive :(

This is true, games are now shockingly expensive. now AAA games are in the £70 region, by the end of the year that will likely be £75. at this point, its hardly worth buying them. Even with sales, that might not bring the price down enough.

I'm not even against high price if the game is good, but between day/year one bugs, missing content, day one DLCs and game beign like 6+ entry copy/paste inferior sequel...there is hardly any game worth the release price these days.

There is literally nothing but FOMO on release day, otherwise, if you wait 2-3 years from release, you get superior product for fracture of the price.

That;s why I'm playing morriwind again, recently installed the total overhaul package from the MOMW site, and WOW, a lot of content. and all the packages that are offered are well maintained. For an old game, with TO, the game looks amazing, but needs a beefy system to run.
Well worth picking up again, especailly when the recent oblivion remaster is a bit of a flop, there is still skyoblivion still coming, that should be decent. But still, wasn't really found of the game, hopefully it will be a better high quality effort then the low grade full price (even with a sale, its not worth it) flop.

But openmw with mods, amazing. but yeah, I'm not that really bothered with AAA titles these days, full price for hardly any content, or effort.

This thread's purpose is to notify of free/very cheap games that X players may find of interest, and is not for general software pricing discussions thanks.

I'll see what the bill is for some major car repairs I'm having done later today before daring to look...

Then, since I've just fired up my gaming desktop for the first time in almost a year, I might just have a splurge!

(Which probs means I'll by the Hyperion expansion pack for X4... :D )

*edit* Had to laugh when the first sale game I saw was reduced to just over £50.00 (around 60 USD) and barely recognised the shrill-voiced 'HOW MUCH?' as my own...

Thanks for that, some look like the sort of thing I can play co-op with the kids. What's the secret for finding them? Apart from subscribing to this topic ;)

Cheers,
