WARNING: Toggling "Soft Shadows" on or off causes DANGEROUS levels of flicker

Hey all,

I usually have Soft Shadows ON. However, just now, I toggled them off - I actually didn't mean to, but there you go - when I did this I experienced MASSIVE display flicker for a few seconds. This has instantly given me a slight headache, and I'm not that prone to issues from strobe lights and the like. If someone was prone, this would be genuinely dangerous for them.

I'm still feeling really quite fuzzy several minutes later, slightly blurred vision and a headache, sorta surprised how bad that was.

No issues here with RTX 3070 mobile and 576.02 drivers. Smooth transition of game load screen while enabling or disabling soft shadows.

Thanks for testing. It's likely only on a specific hardware combination, hence my linked DXDiag, VulkanInfo and config.xml. We had an issue like this once before, where engine glow flickered badly during a beta, thankfully it was fixed.

However, this issue probably won't get fixed unless you report it, with all the pertinent information, in the tech support forum. Egosoft's bug fixers will likely never see your post here.

I was hoping to see if the issue is very wide-spread or not first, but please move it to the tech forum if you thinks that's the best place for it.

You need to state what version you're playing and whether you're using any mods (and perhaps which ones).
