you have to remember that NASA has been measuring changing temperatures for last 20 years.
and measuring something they think is a deep state conspiracy, makes NASA a target
MAGA doesn't need science

I was not commenting on whether NASA faced cuts in its budget - as I mentioned, that process have already started some time ago - I was more commenting on dynamics between power players in the current regime.

could be too. But without NASA's direction, I am not sure Space X has a concrete mission other than trying to make back some money

If you're not a straight, white, "christian" male living in the US, I highly suggest you arm yourself and be ready when ICE comes kicking in your door. Darth Hamburder is already showing he doesn't give a damn what SCOTUS rules and is planning on deporting US citizens next. The republicans always claimed the 2nd amendment exists to protect yourself from a tyrannical government, well here we f'n are living under one. Exercise your 2nd amendment right and defend yourself when his SS comes for you.

This is scary
Whistleblower org says DOGE may have caused 'significant cyber breach' at US labor watchdog
https://www.reuters.com/technology/cybe ... 025-04-15/
But of course, no one is interested, because either they are owned by Trump or been gutted. Seems DOGE is up to no good now, but who will stop them?
Edit,
Foreign IP addresses were also detected, and guess who those IP addresses were linked too? Russia, So Russia has now got top secret sensitive data and DOGE was behind it. America is just so screwed.

So despite being told to lift the ban on AP press, Trump admin go one step farther.

“The White House announced Tuesday that it was eliminating the traditional press pool access for wire services after a federal court ordered the administration to end viewpoint discrimination against the Associated Press,” Bloomberg reports.
“The move will significantly reduce the traditional level of access for journalists from the AP, Reuters, and Bloomberg News to the press pool, which cover the president in areas like the Oval Office and aboard Air Force One where space is limited.”

A video of ICE agents breaking a window of a car and drag out a couple who were on their way to a dentist.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP4Ri_CvzsE
This is just sickening.
This could be a mistake of identity, but the couple didn't want to get out of the car, until their lawyer arrives. As the agents were calling the man by a different name. Still, this should not have happened. But this is Trump's America now. The american Gestapo are in full force.

I'm sorry but the US constitution and our rights cannot be overturned by a simple vote. That's just a lame excuse. What he's doing is very illegal, even SCOTUS has said so 9-0, but he doesn't give a ****.

Trump vs Harvard. Frozen funding. Demands investigation into Harvard. Harvard might lose tax exempt status. Harvards stance of We are all Abrego Garcia.
https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/16/politics ... index.html
Stefanik led the charge against Harvard again on Tuesday after the administration froze $2.2 billion in federal funds when the university refused its demands
It demanded that Harvard commission an outside party to audit multiple programs, schools and departments within the university that it said were tainted by egregious records of antisemitism or other bias.
But its stunning list of demands doesn’t end there. It called for an end to all diversity, equity and inclusion programs, including reductions in the power of the faculty; ending any hiring based on race, religion or sex; and new crackdowns on student protests and student groups and clubs, including those that support Palestinian sovereignty – a longtime, if lapsed, US government policy. And the White House demanded investigations into past campus protests and sit-ins that took place in the aftermath of the Hamas attacks on Israel.
People supporting/protesting for Abrego Garcia might face federal charges and be arrested. Trump threatens to arrest Governors and still has frozen funding.
Government in contempt of court. Senator denied visit to see Garcia.

US stocks have another bad day after a slight rise days before. China seems to be doing fine in trade war. China has made some more trade agreements with other countries. So no, he is in office because we didn't vote, not because we voted.Incubi wrote: ↑Mon, 7. Apr 25, 02:23 In 2020 81,283,501 people voted for Biden and 74,223,975 voted for trump. That was a total of 155,507,476 votes. There were 258.3 million people at voting age.
in 2024 75,017,613 people voted for Harris and 77,302,580 voted for Trump. That was a total of 152,320,193 votes. I can't get a solid number for 2024 voting age, but it is a larger number of voting ages than in 2020 while less voters total showed up.
Mostly because of the electoral college a lot of Americas feel that their vote does not count. And a strange thing happened in 2024, the left started to refuse to vote because it would contribute to a system that they did not believe in. I found this odd as the left has always promoted the idea of "get out there and vote, your vote matters" So here are my two reasons for blaming the left for Trumps election. The left stopped being reasonable and they did not vote. This meant Trumps opposition was not sufficiently fighting Trump in the election booth, or with intelligent debate.
So no, Americans did not want Trump, they just did nothing to prevent it. Propaganda is rampant and people are lazy.
I am going to go conspiracy theorist now.
We have all heard of how spies exist who create social unrest, America has them in Russia, Russia has them in America and Iran has them in Americ and America has them in your back yard wherever you are. And it is easier to plant them in the left than the right. There is also right-wing interest being performative on the left and I am sure vice versa as well. Millennials and Generation Z are more susceptible to propaganda because they were practically raised on it. We do not teach enough about how to deal with propaganda in our schools or even how to separate the good from the bad in propaganda. We also do not teach the more important aspects of communication until college. This makes society easy to control.

Trump was elected because most who voted and who didn't vote at all, can't tell a difference between a Democrat, Republican and a fascist.
Or they just prefer fascist, that's always an option too
I know my family does that voted for Trump

But now, its Trump own supporters who are getting deported, LOL, even though they believed that Trump wouldn't touch them or go after those that deserve it.
Have no symphony for those people, they should have know better. But it seems these ICE thugs are just that. I think this will get a lot worse, before it hits melting point. They Never Thought Trump Would Have Them Deported
Caitlin Dickerson: “Many Trump supporters, including undocumented immigrants themselves, took to heart Trump’s repeated assurances that the administration would put the emphasis squarely on people who clearly threatened public safety.”
“That hasn’t happened. In the face of immense pressure to hit the president’s stated goals for arrests and deportations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are arresting people who, polling suggests, most Americans believe should be left alone, if not offered a pathway to legal residency after completing an application process.”

If you require a link to how an election works and how people are elected, I can provide one. Otherwise posting soundbytes doesn't change the outcome of the US election.
They *did* vote for him, and they got him. Just that the rest of us are also lumped with him as well. Sadly.
As for talk of the constitution - it'd appear the only one that gets people riled up is regarding gun ownership.
So again, they get what they deserve... what they voted for. No point pretending that any of what's going on is a surprise

Just waiting to see how long before "America" wakes up as they seem indifferent so far. I'd like to think that over here even 1/10th of this crap would have the leader ousted. However, politics do differ so it's not easy to really claim any parallel or high ground in that regard.

Re: Trump Presidency
There is that. Also, there wasn't any choice. Biden wasn't fit and Harris was anointed without an opportunity for people to vote for her candidacy. Some Democrats didn't vote in the general election, because the public was excluded from the primaries. That fact alone, left a very sour taste for the Democrats.
There were plenty of Democrats who sat it out because they didn't like the direction the Democrat party was heading, but they couldn't bring themselves to voting for Trump.
Next time (if there is a next time), let's hope that the Democrats are able to muster a candidate that stands for central-liberal ideas. Someone who isn't bat-shit crazy left-wing nuthouse variety and isn't merely a politically fluid marionette.

Yes, don't vote for anything left wing. if it smells like left, vote full on fascist and get a bunch of people killed and exiled so you can feel like the morally superior white guy that you are! Bonus points if your candidate is a convicted felon and a rapist.

yes, mass illegal deportations, ending medicare, medicade, social security. calling veterans losers, whitewashing history, denying someone's right to exist because they're not straight, white, male, and "christian"... speaks volumes that none of those register as crazy to you.

Re: Trump Presidency
So they are going to have an oral arguments, but then again, we are talking about a corrupt SC, what if they rule in favour of Trump? the constitution will be pretty much shredded. on the other hand, what if they Rule against Trump? Trump will just do a middle finger and say "sod you" and defy the court. So either way, it will make SC look weak. They already are, with this illegally deported man, even though the SC said, it was illegal.Supreme Court to Hear Birthright Citizenship Case
“The Supreme Court on Thursday said it would weigh in on the Trump administration’s request that it be allowed to broadly enforce its new restrictions on birthright citizenship while the policy is being litigated,” USA Today reports.
“The court said it will hear oral arguments on May 15.”
Washington Post: “Trump’s order would deny citizenship for new babies if neither parent is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, a population that some studies have estimated at more than 150,000 newborns per year.”
At this point, what purpose does the SC court have, if Trump is going to continue to ignore them?

As usual, most of what you said is not true. Illegals must be deported. Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are not ending. No one is denying anyone's right to exist. Sure, there are now laws to prevent some of the gender identity nonsense but that is hardly denying someone's right to exist.Vertigo 7 wrote: ↑Thu, 17.
