X:Rebirth does not start anymore due to test_txc crash

After the most recent system update of my Fedora 40, X:Rebirth does not start anymore, because test_txc is crashing due to a violated assertion in libdbus (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdbus-1.so.3.19.17).

dbus[4307]: arguments to dbus_connection_unref() were incorrect, assertion "connection->generation == _dbus_current_generation" failed in file ../../dbus/dbus-connection.c line 2833.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.

Probably that assertion was not there in previous builds of libdbus, so test_txc got away with it.

Is there anything that can be done? Wouldn't expect to end my X:R revisit so soon after buying the the last missing DLC
