So Trump is now thinking America might go into recession. He not ruling it out.
Trump Won’t Rule Out a Recession

“President Donald Trump is confident that the country’s economy has a bright future — but he isn’t ruling out a 2025 recession just yet,” Politico reports.

Said Trump: “I hate to predict things like that.”

He added: “There is a period of transition, because what we’re doing is very big. We’re bringing wealth back to America. That’s a big thing.”
But considering the impact that Musk is doing, I think a recession is more then likely. But of course, he will blame Biden and the dems.

Trump administration disbands two expert panels on economic data. Just make up inflation, unemployment and gdp numbers now. Same as they did in russia.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump- ... 025-03-05/

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has disbanded two expert committees that worked with the government to produce economic statistics, potentially affecting the quality of data.

The terminations by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick were effective February 28 and communicated on Tuesday via email to one of the panels, the Federal Economic Statistics Advisory Committee (FESAC), which assisted with inflation and employment gross domestic product (GDP) data.

It's the new normal [in the US countries driven by far-right extremists].

Gone are the days when you needed a proper education (in both knowledge and behaviour) and years of additional training. Now all it takes is cheering to the dictator and yell at "the enemies".

TBH I'm looking forward to the day all of this blows up in their face with me sitting at the sidelines and laughing my ass off. The next decades will be a worthless episode - once it is over mankind has to clean up the mess - again.

These people need to be banned from holding any positions in government forever.

Actually, don't bother, I know the answer already; in your f'd up smooth brain, only straight white males are capable of doing anything and/or should be the only ones allowed to, right?

I will say that I am experiencing significant regret supporting Trump for a variety of reasons
But there are the reasons given for why Kamala was not chosen

Edit: I have on my computer a document “ why the left lost 2024” I may chuck bits of it on here it’s something I wrote but realised to was too confrontational and my recent experience has made me rethink it

And I will agree that so Far Trump has been a diplomatic disaster zone his threats to Greenland and Canada rank as completely asinine.
I appreciate the response and I'm going to address each item listed on this excuse list:

1.) This is throwing stones in a glass house, as if the Orange One is mentally stable. Or if we want to talk about coverups, I mean the GOP gives us plenty to discuss among their own, including the Orange One's own activities. This is ridiculously hypocritical and if I were a republican voter, I'd would be insulted to be treated so stupid by this author.

2) This is an out right lie. Kamala never voiced support for Hamas, instead voiced support for the protests speaking out for the Palestinian people that were being slaughtered by Israel in Gaza. All too often the GOP confuses the civilians with the militants that are the actual enemy. This was true of their regard for the people of Afghanistan, Syria, and else where. They seem to have a big problem distinguishing who the bad guys are, juries out if that's intentional or not.

3) Okay... However, I would point out that there are medically necessary reasons for needing an abortion at any point during a pregnancy and that should be an issue discussed between the pregnant woman and her doctor. Playing political hypotheticals with real medical issues costs people lives, as abortion bans have been proven to do.

4) I've never been so afraid of Hispanic and Latino people to really care about border crossings. They certainly haven't done anything to cause actual damage to me or anyone I know, and I know people all over the country. I also know that the right wing grossly exaggerates the amount of border crossings that occur, and it certainly isn't an "invasion" as they like to put it. And as this is a country that was built by immigrants, I really don't see what the problem is with giving people a chance at a better life here.

5) Ahh Ukraine, the evil democratic country that dared to fight back against the peaceful authoritarian rule of Russia. Yes, how dare she provide goodwill to a now former ally! For shame!

6) If that was a lie, then oh well. Don't forget that the Orange One himself described a kidnapping scene in a fictional movie as something that actually happened by Mexicans in the US. Not saying she was right, but again, throwing stones in a glass house. I mean come on, when Darth Hamburder breathes the air comes out crooked.

7) Really... unpopularity didn't stop the GOP from putting forth a convicted felon.

8.) Yall just love throwing rocks.

9) I'm gonna have to say pics or it didn't happen. Even the link provided doesn't work.

10) Come on... I still remember the ever so delightful Bing Bing Bongs and the HONK HONK and other truly brilliant displays by mutant Oompa Loompa. And then is other really wtf moments, like when he called white supremacists "Very Fine People", or when he sided with Putin over our own intelligence agencies at a televised summit, or the time he riled up a mob to attack and smear human feces on the walls of the US capitol and kill uniformed police officers, etc. etc.

11) Amazing how this doesn't mention the fact that the AGs being praised were taking up cases where these pregnancy crisis centers were attacked by violent RWNJs. I don't see a problem here unless the implication is that right wingers aren't subject to the same laws as everyone else and violence against something you don't like is okay?

12) There's a lot to unpack in this mess, the least of which that "$2 billion" figure being thrown around is a high end insurance estimate and not the actual amount of damage done. Regardless, If she knowingly bailed out, or caused to be bailed out, criminals thats one thing. Unlike republicans, I do like to see people held accountable for their crimes regardless of their political leanings or political usefulness. However, how much money had been given by republicans to defend dear leader, a known rapist and convicted felon?

13) Okay? Seems she gave the right answer there. Police aren't mental health professionals and you don't treat people undergoing some kind of mental episode with a tazer or a gun. I don't see the problem here. She's 100% right. We used to have mental health services and those responsibilities were abdicated and left to the police to deal with and they're not trained to do so.

14) "may have" not gonna waste my time

15) okay? Something wrong with giving to the people that have suffered due to malicious intent?

16) I really don't understand why right wingers go so bat shit over guns. Yall lost your minds over the election lies and went crazy trying to force people to prove they are who they say they are on top of having a state issued ID to vote but let anyone have a gun that wants one no matter who they are... makes perfect sense.

17) Taxes on the wealthy, sure. Your own convict in chief's tax records prove he hasn't paid taxes in over a decade. When the top 1% of has more wealth than the bottom 50% of the country, don'tcha think they oughta be paying their fair share instead of making us do all the heavy lifting for them while they dont have to do jack?

18) I admit I'm not fully educated on the effects of fracking but from what I've heard it sounds like it's incredibly destructive to the environment and will take decades to recover from the damage done, if ever.

19) Yeah, once again, legislating medical decisions that should be left to patients and their doctors, not something for lawmakers to discuss or debate. This subject is misleading and not at all accurate to real world conditions to the issues the proposed bill would have created had it passed.

20) It astounds me when I see things like this that anyone would take it at face value. Yes, she wanted to get rid of private insurance in place of federally subsidized insurance, just like most of Europe and Canada. Sound like a fantastic idea to me that would go a long way towards reducing healthcare costs for US citizens across the board.

21) Again, I'm not afraid of Hispanics or Latinos. Don't see a problem here.

22) Dude duped a lot of people. Yeah, she should have come forward and admitted she was duped too, but she didn't. Pretty sure there are more important things to worry about than this egregious oversight.

23) Really -.- Donald Trump, Margorie Taylor Green, Stephen Millar, need I go on?

24) Dude was spewing violent and dangerous rhetoric. She wasn't the only one calling for it.

25) Again, leaving medical decisions to patients and their doctors where it belongs. Don't see a problem here.

26) I think it's a fair question considering the GOPs known affiliations with the KKK and other white supremacists groups.

27) Again, taxing the wealthy seems like a great plan to me.

28) considering that members of this organization have spoken out about the organizations practice of racism and discrimination, this sounds like to me someone doesn't like getting called out.

29) Ahh, ol Boof Meister Kavanaugh. Tell me, do you like a Supreme Court Justice that can commit perjury and get away with it? Cause no matter how you slice it, he lied in his senate testimony. At best, he's a liar, at worst, he committed rape. Either way, republican or no, you would agree the Supreme Court deserve a higher caliber person than that, no?

30) This is absurd. 1) these people weren't prosecuted for doing their job, they were prosecuted for breaking the law. Is the GOP the party of "law and order" or is it only meant to harass and arrest people that aren't republicans when the delicate sensibilities of the GOP are offended? 2) if these clinics were "trafficking body parts" as this lil blurb claims, why were no criminal charges filed against the clinics?

tldr

I didn't find anything here that justifies the cruelty of the orange one's administration. Or rather I dont see how anyone could look at what he said he was going to do, or what he is doing, as somehow a lesser evil comparatively to anything on that list.

US trade deficit increases and breaks record. Importers trying beat potential tariffs and people boycotting american goods.

US dollar is really losing ground to euro, yen and some other currencies.

Wasn't the best day for the us stock market.

Other countries imposing more tariffs on the US. China imposing 15% tariff on us agricultural goods.

RFK at it again,
RFK Jr. Links Measles Outbreak to Poor Diet and Health

“In a sweeping interview, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health and human services secretary, outlined a strategy for containing the measles outbreak in West Texas that strayed far from mainstream science, relying heavily on fringe theories about prevention and treatments,” the New York Times reports.

“He issued a muffled call for vaccinations in the affected community, but said the choice was a personal one. He suggested that measles vaccine injuries were more common than known, contrary to extensive research.”

“He asserted that natural immunity to measles, gained through infection, somehow also protected against cancer and heart disease, a claim not supported by research.”

“He cheered on questionable treatments like cod liver oil, and said that local doctors had achieved ‘almost miraculous and instantaneous’ recoveries with steroids or antibiotics.”
Seriouslly, what the frell? clearly hasn't a clue what he on about. The senate really made a huge mistake by confirming him.

More evidence of Trump's madness
Trump Doubles Tariffs on Canada

“President Donald Trump said Tuesday he has ordered his administration to raise tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum imports by an additional 25%, bringing the total duties to 50%,” CNBC reports.

“The new policy will go into effect Wednesday morning, Trump said in a Truth Social post that also repeated his calls for Canada to be absorbed into the U.S. as the ‘Fifty First State.'”
And the stock market went down a lot as a result. Simply clueless on how the markets work. America will certainly feel pain soon enough.

Don't worry. Trump just froze $1 billion in food aid to low incoming families. Surely this will make the stock market go up again and aid the stability of the country. After all a bit of food insecurity has always been a surefire way to make a situation less tense and violent.

I'm all for countries being as self-sufficient as possible, but this trade war is beyond ridiculous. While the United States is rich in resources, it doesn't have everything.

Encouraging more domestic production over foreign imports is a worthy goal, but these things take years, not days. This daily on again, off again, thrashing around with tariffs, is childish. Our good friends in Canada and Mexico, do not deserve this kind of drama. Neither do American farmers and others who depend on trade for their livelihood.

This kind of stuff will cut deep into Trump's support base. More of this for another four years, should put Democrats in a good position for taking back the White House. Granted, four years in the future, seems like an eternity with Trump in the picture.

And what did you think would happen once Trump is back in power? didn't you remember your history when Trump tried the same trick before and lost? and American farmers paid a high price for that as well. Trump is clueless, that should have been a big clue during his first term. Trump is just trying to throw his weight around, and doing badly. This is what American's voted for. And it will be a bitter pill to sallow. At this rate, a recession is very likely. And this will only hurt Americans even more.

Would Harris do this stupidity? I think not.

So Musk wants a government shutdown, so he can fire even more people, even though the WH doesn't want a shutdown?
Elon Musk Wants a Government Shutdown

“As President Donald Trump has been trying to keep House Republicans in line over a continuing resolution to keep the government open through the fall, Elon Musk has expressed a desire for a government shutdown,” Wired reports.

“Sources also tell Wired that Musk has wanted a government shutdown—an aim that runs contrary to the White House’s stated desire to avoid one—in part because it would potentially make it easier to eliminate the jobs of hundreds of thousands of federal workers, essentially achieving a permanent shutdown.”
In that case, he is clearly acting outside what the government wants. but at this stage, a government shutdown is very likely indeed. If Musk wants a shutdown, Then he doesn't have the blessing of Trump. Things may get heated then.

But if you read the news actually, nothing is offered.

Trump said that Canada must not exist basically. So what does Ford expect?

Trump doubled the tariffs on steel and aluminum then dropped them when the electricity charge was dropped. Electricity charge would have been only 144m per year based on a 400k per day estimate. So not much money.

Not sure there is much for them to talk about. The Ontario guy is pro business and is easily suckered into stuff like the Alberta premier. Alberta premier is going to use tax payer money to do maga media stuff in the US. She's super stupid and always gets screwed over at albertas/ Canada's cost.

From Ford's reaction bugged out eyes, emotional, etc... You can see he has some biological issues but could be worse. wouldn't have re-elected him. Since Canadians seem to be stupid also canadas next prime minister likely to be polievre since he is the most trump like, wont get his security clearance which raises large questions and he has trump like plans.

backing down from trump isn't good but maybe in this case theres good enough reason. hopefully the backing down ends at this point.

It appears as though maga might be trying to tell people US currently has no tariffs. Trying to blame inflation and economy on other things.

Oh they're definitely doing all kind of gymnastics to blame the tanking economy on everything but the orange douche bag responsible for it. Their story has changed so much... started with day 1 the orange one was gonna magic everything and make everyone rich, to its gonna take a little work, to there will be some pain but it'll be temporary, to its all Biden's fault! But don't you worry, ladies and gentlemen, President Musk and his orange lap dog still eat well every night.

They elected a new leader for the Liberal party after Trudeau left. Next federal election should be soon since Carney wasn't elected by the people just the liberal party. Not sure what's the maximum amount of time he can stay in power before having to call an election. The longer the better but since he didn't win a federal election voted on by the people it might not work out well.

Some more stuff going on with Tesla. Musk is going after his 56b bonus or whatever it is. White House is showcasing Tesla cars. Musk talks of increasing Tesla output but the US is removing charging stations at the same time and promoting oil. Tesla might be getting a government bail out???? Have only seen one person suggesting it so very much a rumour at this point.

Canada has a 100% tariff on China electric vehicles. In response after months China has put a 25% tariff on Canadian seafood. US already has tariffs on seafood also. Canada might be seeing China's electric vehicles soon? Also doesn't make sense to continue subsidizing tesla. There was also a suspicious large sale recently of 1200 vehicles from one Toronto location. Guessing it would cost Canadian tax payers money with the subsidies? Canada has a goal of 100% electric vehicle sales by 2035.

If you want to screw over Tesla, just remove carbon credit selling.

https://carboncredits.com/teslas-carbon ... ofit-drop/

Carbon credits are an awful idea, as it means not having to change direction whatsoever for most businesses "But we buy credits from a company that plants trees that'll take 80 years to remove this years carbon...", or "we buy Tesla's credits generated from making electric cars, so we can continue with petrol cars that have vastly inefficient engines"

As for Trump - lulz. UK "we're thinking about tariff retaliation, but for now it's lube up and bend over".

It amaze me that people don't understand how prime minister/chancellor works - they are never elected directly, only proposed as potential candidates during parlimentary elections for MPs.
It's parliment who elect them and it's perfectly normal to switch candidate at ANY moment as long as you have parlimentary majority to put him in the office.
