Help? - Adding sticktime causes muzzle animation on impact?

Wanted to add sticktime to Boron Phase cannons... easy...

But it causes a giant ?muzzle animation? to spawn on the target at a 90 degree angle ... which just looks horrible.
Looking at the bullet file - it's not clear what options I have...

Options ?
  • if I shrink that impact animation and rotate it to be perpendicular to the surface hit...
  • replace this impact with something else ... possibly from VRO
Questions:
  • where/how is the 'sticky' graphic/animation defined?
  • where can I go to learn about modifying / creating / editing it?
  • is there a way to just scale and rotate it?
