I've created a couple of boot strap station templates designed to help you get going fast in the early game. There are 3 stations that fit in a compact 4x4x4 km area so they're cheap to place. These templates also are designed to start selling end chain materials as quickly as possible so that the station will pay for its own construction. Be aware these stations do not have any defensive platforms but have room for you to add them later.
Typically I will start with the Compact Solar Power Plant. It's good to go anywhere there's sunlight and requires no support ships. You can instantly place this down in most new game starts. It's a quick money maker.
The other two templates are fully self sustained. They'll produce everything they need if just given miners to work with them and can provide massive profits and fit well after you have a couple of the solar power plants online.

Energy cells as a foot in the door. Classic optimised gameplay. My Ionforge does something similar for Terran build methods.
Consider adding a mineral and gas trade station as well - centralising mineral and gas supply around one logistics hub means you need one manager for station range, and can support selling to the NPC economy in bulk. I have plans to build a gas-solids hub as my next contribution to my Terran Collection.

I design beautiful, powerful stations that transform your gameplay and look stunning. Now presenting Tachyon Developments - The Terran Collection - now with Community of Planets ship and station technologies!
