X4: Foundations Update 3.20 now available

Post by Gregory » Thu, 4. Jun 20, 15:14

Today we are releasing another significant update for X4: Foundations. The 3.20 update introduces a new feature, Trade Rules, which gives you finer control over the buying and selling of each ware at your stations, and allows you to create templates for these rules which can be applied to your entire empire, multiple stations, or even individual wares.

But that is by no means all there is to it. We have also introduced an easier way to share your station designs with other players, made numerous quality-of-life adjustments to the menus, improved turret accuracy, and squashed lots and lots of bugs. A complete changelog for update 3.20 can be found here.

Update your game to 3.20 now to benefit from over 200 improvements. Enjoy your space adventure and stay safe!

Good work!
After 3.00 I got Lack issues with the map after this 3.20 update all is back to being really smooth again.

One think I would like is to be able to Build a station and before they are build, change the modules in the way they will be build.
As I am making MEGA stations that can take many days and sometimes I need to order changed.
It can be the same way as the ships that trade wares, there you can change the order of the exchange.

Thanks for the wonderful update! :D

But should it be version 3.2 or 3.20, the confusion also exists throughout the entire forum.
The standard definition in the open-source community (if you look at Google Tensorflow, Facebook PyTorch, or Numpy, Scipy, etc.) is that since you do not have 3.19, it should be 3.2 instead.
Or if there might be a minor-minor-patch 3.2.1, then it should be 3.2.0 or 3.2.

Adopting a scientific version numbering convention is always a good practice, because it can avoid confusion in future releases when it gets too many!

There is no confusion; it's 3.20. If there were a minor patch, it would be 3.21. The next slightly bigger update will be 3.30.

By slightly bigger you mean bigger than 3.21 or bigger than 3.20? Jump by 0.10 seem to indicate this will be aprox. half the size of 3.20 (0.20 from 3.0), or am I reading too much into it?

You're reading way too much into it. I was responding to a theoretical question about our numbering system, not giving our forthcoming version roadmap!
