What is the "Design your own Stations" Feature the Trailer speaks of?

Is this something new or is it talking about the Split Faction Modules?
I'm guessing Station Interiors? Can you divulge further?

Also How many New Sectors are we talking here?
New Weapons? Technology?

And can we get some screenshots of the Split Males and Females? Have they had a major overhaul since X:Rebirth?

Having a mission to defend a station just didn't seem right to me.
They wait for you to accept mission.. Then attack.

Would of been better if a fleet of Pirate ships, A galleon with 30-40 fighters are buzzing round a helpless station, their defenses have been hacked and they give out a distress beacon that "they need help" you get an orange screen, click on it with cursor and they tell you the mission, you accept.
Would be allot cooler if they did it that way, instead of the X:Rebirth/X3 way.. Loved how the Toride System in Rebirth had distress missions.. You had to fly to a miner/freighter being chased by Xenon/Kha'ak Ships. Allot more realistic.

There is always problem when it come to reality vs fun. Having action on demand was one of reasons why I liked older titles including XR as you can kill time while waiting for other things. Not sure how it is now but only assassination missions I had was hopeless trading ships half of galaxy away.
It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....

Hm, the bottom right pic looks like a modern take on the Dragon, is that what it is?

30 secs is the Back of their Bald Head and the side view in 50 secs I can't make out because of the Transparency effects of Windows obscuring vision (My Eyes aren't that good).

Will Ego be releasing some screenshots? I really want to see how the Split Models have improved since X:Rebirth?

Assassinations haven't really changed since X:Rebirth, come to think of it? They've gotten worse, in X:Rebirth you could at least take a high paying contract and face off against a Taranis with Balor and some fighters or even another Taranis as escort; not seen an assassination mission greater than a fighter?

I'd love to see (But probably consumes CPU memory) a Bounty System in place where a ship (Even the Player) Can mount up a bounty on their Head through the use of 'Unauthorized Kills', 'Attacking Stations' or even if you force a Freighter to eject it's cargo triggers a 'Piracy' warning, increasing your bounty. Every crime you commit the bounty pot fills up, the higher the price on your Head, the greater the consequences?

You can see a Faction Representative and pay off your bounty or the fun of being a 'Notorious Pirate' you can mount up that Bounty into it's millions, till it becomes so high that Factions start sending out Mercenaries to hunt you down, the higher the bounty? the greater the frequency of attacks on you and fleet sizes that you are Hans Solo being chased by Star Destroyer sized ships.
There can be allot of fun and realism behind such a system, giving the Bounty Hunter playthrough a much welcome boost?
You could even have a 'Wanted List' you can pull up when you enter a certain Factions space, with a list of ships who have committed crimes in that section of Space.

Possibilities are endless!!

Limit Theory (Before they gave up) was implementing a bounty system just like that.

Is there a detailed changelog/feature-list somewhere for v3.0? A list of new stuff in the DLC?

We put the changelog together shortly before the beta is made available, so not just yet. Also, we're not ruling out other patches before 3.0. Either way, expect the changelog to be sizable.

That Split fighter looks sexy as hell! It gives some X2 Mamba vibes, so I guess this must be Mamba.

XRM could do it more or less convincingly, so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

A question about some phrasing in the trailer, and the lack of a prevalent visual cue from existing advertising material.

A) "A huge new space sandbox"
B) Complete lack of the familiar blue streaks

...Has the universe been reworked to function without highways in addition to having split sectors added?

on a reality note, as you're doing a booth at gamescom this year, will you be allowing footage recording and livestreaming from the event because...

Hopefully the split families are at war with each other or with some of the other factions. We need more conflicts spread out, rather then everyone vs the HOP. Maybe give the HOP a friend in one of the split families so they can trade with someone other then the player and the HAT.

Starcraft Marine Tychus: "Hell... it's 'bout time".

I was about to go to general chat to toss in some ideas about modular Ships out of bordom when I saw this news! Yay! Got excited right at the start of the trailer. Looks like the population of the station roaming has been imrpoved (fixed). Though I wonder if they gave more variety.

I hope they don't wait until AFTER Xmas holidays to release the patch! lol

Yeah exactly like that. I'd also love it if they got an overhaul or at least a small update. They look a little bit too much like tall goblins at the moment :p The male split otoh look very cool:

I have to admit I am exited for the update - I completely forgot that I have it already through the deluxe edition :) Was about to pre-purchase on Steam as I noticed the "already in Library" tag on it :)

Really looking forward for the storyline, which was a tad slim in the base game to be honest. Also bigger Universe - hell yes.
