Wow talk about nostalgia. That series made me laugh hard back in the day and my English was a lot worse that it is today. For the longest time I thought it was a French TV show mocking the Brits (in my defence I was rather little and knew nothing about cultures and languages).

MFG

I still enjoy baffling my 13 year old daughter by announcing myself with 'Tis I, Leclerc!'.

She has no idea what I am wittering about.

:(

So so many quotes of 'Allo 'Allo - loved the show when I was younger. Box set was £10 last year on Amazon, great purchase, and still love it now - for all its silliness; perfect 80's sitcom.

It never occurred to me she'd be 80 yet.

Read it last night and without a credible news link I was hoping it was a hoax... Didn't hold out much hope though. Bah!

One that the world seems to have missed for a week now ...
Masaya Nakamura, the "Father of Pac-Man" who founded the Japanese video game company behind the hit creature-gobbling game, has died. He was 91.

I have read about it, but to be fair I had no clue who that was, even though I played Pac-Man quite a lot and its (the game) notoriety is rather great.

And the link:

(Why does the BBC not seem to run obituaries for people like this?).

EDIT: And now the BBC have finally noticed:

Oh, wow... I loved him in both iterations of the series. In fact, in the most recent Battlestar, his acting chops definitely got an upgrade. He was really awesome in that.

RIP, Apollo.

(PS - Tried to find a fan-made vid with Vipers flying to the "Danger Zone" music from Top Gun. But, it looks like it was taken down... :/ )

I liked this tribute to him by the composer from the new BSG:
