[X3AP] My HUD keeps flickering and stations go from low quality to high quality

I am not running any mods even the bonus pack. The HUD will flicker between full brightness and then to low brightness. Stations and ships will also keep switching between low texture quality and high quality.

A couple of things:

Do you have the Steam version? If so, please let Steam verify the game integrity to make sure that all files have been downloaded correctly.

Your graphics card driver is several months old, please download and install the newest driver from the nvidia homepage. There should also be an update available to your realtek soundcard / soundchip from the dedicated realtek website.

What graphics settings do you use for the game? Have you tried changing them to test, whether they have any effect on the mentioned problem? Also do you force any graphics effects through the driver of your graphics card?

I have both verified the files and reinstalled the game several times.

The reason the drivers are old is I keep having system crashes and issues with the new ones.

Changing any setting doesn't fix the issues. I haven't done it through the GPU, I've done it through the game settings. What would you recommend to do through the GPU?

That indicates that something is probably wrong in your OS, DirectX or its setup. New drivers that are correct for the OS if correctly and cleanly installed should not crash your system. That same issue *may* be making your current drivers unstable too and leading to your in-game issues.

Looking at the error messages in Event Viewer that you got from the crashes with the new drivers *should* help to pin down what is going wrong.

By the way, station texture/brightness 'popping' and shimmering with changing view distance and angle is quite common in the vanilla game with some stations, especially Terran ones. You may be seeing 'normal' behaviour if it is not too bad.

It wasn't just isolated with me it was a majority of Nvidia users. I've updated them and the HUD is still flickering with no improvement.

turn off fxaa option for nvidia graphics 3d aplication option = if albion exe not there add it and than turn FXAA OFF !!! 8)
