For what it's worth, the Afterword would have shown

the Xenon did not engage Max's forces, presumably because the Raiders had fought the khaak - the enemy of my enemy - thus neatly explaining why there was a clan station in that Xenon sector in XT.
Actually Steve, I reckon its better without this. Its the cliff hanger to end cliff hangers. You dont know whats happened and the chances are you never will and that to me made it great.

Read the spoiler and have to say the current ending is exactly right for the story.

It seems, from the feedback, that I made the right artistic choice, for the ending. Thanks for the feedback everyone, I put a lot of thought into the nature of the end, how to meet the contract between writer and reader to provide an emotionally satisfying end.

BTW - isn't it clear from the text that Max vapourised Law's body once he teleported it back into space?

I'm afraid it wasn't very clear to me, and wasn't till after a reread that I realised he'd done just that, (hence the edit in my last post).

Max circled around then fired, it's there alright but, on the first read I thought he'd just fired his engine up, on rereading it sank in that he had targeted something under reticule, and then fired, which could only have been Laws body, some mention of the satisfaction of seeing it vapourised would have hit the spot immediatly, along with the cheering that is, :) .

Must admit, I never thought anything on it. I thought that he did teleport him into space.

Had it been me, I would have chucked him out there and then I would have accelerated straight at the body and shoved the nose straight through it with a battle cry though. but that's my style. Mind you, the ship might get dirty though lol.

It's certainly very good, I would hope that the publishers bring out an audio version of it, then I'd definitely purchase it.

Hi

Thanks - It's the third and final volume of the Rogues Testament Trilogy - the first two are on the game disk and the first part, Rogues Testament, is one of the two novels included in the X-Universe Volume 1 book advertised at the top of the page. And yes, I wrote it. I began it just after XT came out and have been writing it on and off for the last few years.

Not sure if/when the other 2 vols will be out in dead tree format. The X-universe book is 2 series in one, with Steel's Dominion series and I don't know at what stage the second part is. I guess it also depends on how well the first volume sells.

Age - a lot older than I feel most days. I'm in my forties and am doing an undergraduate course in creative writing. Rogue was the first thing I even wrote - it got better as it went along.

Well I've read it all from the start to the finnish. the style certainly changes as the book goes on, but that definitely doesn't detract from the story.

I've just finished your Rogues Trilogy.
Now I can get on with my life.

Please do not write any more of this stuff.

I need to live more in X2 - not hardcopy pdfs.
In X2, I'll be looking for the elusive, but not deceased, Max Force.

And you should - as Corrin would say, "Go for it, Laddie!"

I'm in my forties too. So bloody what! Got fire in belly, iron in blood, and diamond in mind.

Thank you
