No music (except in highways)

Post by aksele9 »

Hi,

there was a loud static and then all the music in zones disappeared. All other sounds are there, there is music in highways and in the main menu, also during loading screen. Settings are correct. Restarting both the game and computer does not help.

What is the problem, how to fix?

Thanks.

If you can see the Public beta forum then this thread will tell you that you are not the only one having in-game sound issues. The ones in the linked thread are usually associated with highways and may be triggered by fire from enemy ships. The devs are aware and on the case and there might be a hotfix issued if there is a breakthrough.

There was this thread too.

The more information about your game, your system and what you were doing when it all went wrong, the better to enable us or the devs to track it down.

I had this after the update to v2.5 on my recent saves. Changing the game settings didn't bring the sector music back. As I'm using four mods I can't say if this would have happened (probably not) on a vanilla game. In my case, I did manage to cure it in the end though. I found it eventually by doing a search for the phrase music in the save. I found the entry <music locked="1"/>. This entry didn't exist in earlier saves. Deleting the line entry <music locked="1"/> restored the sector music.
