i dont like that Idea and is it not possible to add an NPC to the current Platform (will only appear after docking again)

but i settled for the idea that there will be one Info Broker on every Station in the Galaxy, on a random Platform for the Players to hire (i will look into adding him to the ask-for-people-Menu if you dont like to wander around aimless; since it is planned that one Info Broker can cover a complete Zone this is plenty imo)

the Ship does nothing itself (technically a place to drop unknown trade offers to make them known to the Player) and is not intended to be in plain sight in the end. currently it is for Player Info on which Platform the Broker currently is (he switches Platforms regulary ;) ), in the Final version it will be used when the Broker switches Stations (you may find him somewhere in the Mass Traffig if you're lucky, but that wont happen too often; most time the Ship will be docked)

and the Job of the Broker is it to keep the Info about the Station up-to-date for the Player ;) (Scanning% and Trade Offers)


and even though i know there could be a huge improvent the next Version has to wait currently because i am in the last steps of another Project (though there will be a simultaneous Update because that project depends on this one ^^)

so in this version he can change stations? can he discover new stations?

nope, no Station change yet.. probably in the next Version or in the one after. and yes, he will discover new Stations in the same Zone, even if newly built. when he changes Stations he will check on which Station the Player has the least Information and go there. (at least its planned this way)

How does the InfoBroker influence the save game, stability and performance.
I used a InfoBroker at nearly every station and didn't notice any performance issues but a really blown up savegame file.
Could "excessive" use of the InfoBroker influence stability or other scripts etc.??

i dont think so.. it does only something every half an hour which does not cost any performance (alternating between scanning and moving) and Memory-wise its just a List of Station Building Steps and fitting Platforms to cycle through that is stored, so even if a thousand are active it shouldnt affect anything.. if you send me your Savegame i can have a look if a Broker does something unintended, but i dont think i will find anything.

Hi!

1.24 introduced all agent ships as Albion Skunk in the property list and in the zone ship list.

Useful to see if all zone stations were infiltrated, but spams the property list.

hmm, i assigned them to the Station that they not spam the Property List, they shouldnt appear there.. they should only be visible if you expand the Station with the Broker in the Zone Map since thats where the Ship is assigned to.. will look into that today afternoon.

how many info brokers can i have on one station?
will the time speedup to get all the info for that station with more than one info broker?

currently there is no limitation, and it increases the update frequency since each broker scans individually, but it is definietly not planned this way, just a sideeffect of the fact that i didnt think of that yet ^^

PS and sorry, didnt get into looking what may be wrong with the current Beta Version and this script.. currently too busy to get my Trader Script into a working state..

showing 4 albion skunks in my property list too,, game buggerd up when i clicked on one. any way to list them under crew? and see where you have them stationed/

The bug also kills 'save ship' functionality.

if i hire a pliot on a station. will he move station or will he just stay at the station i hired him at?

@humbrol2 its not that the game is bugged - its just that the skunk i use is not intended to be an NPC-Ship, the Menu therefore displays some strange values but thats all..

@boldhedgehog which save ship functionality?

@lsd currently stays at the Station where you start him..


and @all sry 4 late reply, i saw your posts but it slipped past me to respond

and sry at all who are followint this that there are no updates, but i am currently 13h/day away from home and when i get back i am not really in the mood for scripting.

Thanks for the 'update' Unitrade.
Hope you'll be able to work on this mod again soon. Stopped using it since it was messing up the property lists but really like the functionality!

Perhaps boldhedgehog means "sell ship functionallity".

Since 1.24 and your Mod gets a little broken (skunks showing in property list) i was not able to sell ships. Always got a game crash with an errormassage: "the default method for spe_playership is not set".

After starting a new game the bug was still there. I deleted the info broker and reinstalled X-Rebirth and in the new game selling ships works again. I didnt try to reinstall the info broker for testing so it might be not a problem with your mod.

ok, that could be caused by the fact that the Skunk is not intended to be in Player Possesion as NPC-Ship (never thought this would cause problems - made a Note "Huge Failure" for myself).. in the aiscripts somewhere at the top is a <create_ship> Command where the ship type is defined as macro="****" - delete this Attribute and replace it with the commented out group="***" in the same Line - then it'll use XS Masstraffic Ships which should be fine..
