German forums not even...

Post by Cipher1 »

half as loaded with negative posts. Just saying that in some regions it might even be pissible that it is a success. Yes there are negative posts in the German forums, but not even close as many as here.

Interesting. Different cultures do like different game types.

Ya well, we can invite the 5 or so people in it to come here and yell some.

It's overall 30% of this forum's posts. It's far less people using it.
So percentagewise, maybe it's panning out over time.

I won't say anything of the sort. But I will say that bus driving simulators are rather popular in Germany. Make of that what you will.

Different cultures also have different ways of responding to negative emotions. In Japan for example, the expected response to having a problem with something is to just quietly avoid it, where as in the US it'd be to complain.

I just hope it's not so extreme that the Japanese counterpart of Bernd and the Dev team has to go all out on the seppuku tradition in Japan tho.

If I would complain about everything I don't like I would propably die 5 years earlier.

The worse part about this statement is.... you have a better grasp of the english language than most native speakers (and myself included).

Egosoft is a german based company.
No surprise they have on the german forum a relative high Proportion of loyal
Fanboys that defend "their" Developers no matter what.
Furthermore, as a more rational motive for some of the positive Responses, there are longtime customers with the hope that
the company will somehow survive this disaster and then be able to build an "X4".

Maybe - but it's just so fun to think we English-speakers are right all the time, isn't it?

Not surprising given that the pre-release tone was much more positive than the English forums as well. German forums have a tendency to be full of pretentious douchebags and people pretending to be Boronian barkeepers and I avoid them like the plague. The German community members were also the people screaming the most for Freelancer Trade Lanes, crew and station interiors.

It's a german company who made it, so most germans have pride & respect for it.

If this game was made by americans, it would have been worse probably...

this is really strange. on one hand german game companies consistently produce ridiculous sims like farming/lumberjack/bus driver simulators, and rebirth is certainly as stupid and boring as these sims are; on the other hand rebirth is not a simulator at all, unlike those german games.

I imagine the German audience has different priorities in a game that have more to do with immersion than actual gameplay values or even quality of content. They are content with walking on stations even if it is 3 crappy interiors, ****** dialog and tedious gameplay. Simply being on a space station is enough for them to go off into their fantasy realm.

I just went to the German forums and it looks to be the same amount of issues that are being brought up.

The difference seems to be how they express it. They're not screaming like twelve-year-olds, you see!

Legitimate issues with the game? Sure. Go for it. But the concentrated hate here is just so destructive. It says far more about the community than the developers, honestly.
