Im getting the readtext error message mentioned in the readme. The language file is 44 in the file and its named correctly.
Like I said, two of my M5s had a "" symbol in their names. I removed them - then it worked fine!!
Just to mention it: There are also characters like "<->" which may cause the readtext error. In my case, shortening the import to the headerlines (1-99) and the footer (the last 2 lines) and then add lines one by type in the middle was helping me to find the problem.

Will this script work for Reunion modded to run Xtended? Seems to me that TC is just Xtended with an extra polish.
If not I may just sell everything then try but I might as well just use the cheat script in TC to give me the money & ship.

Thanks for all that have kept this script alive, I'm about to start XTC and have been prepping my X3R save.
Of course I have a few questions:
1. Is this link the same file as the OP? I can't get 4shared to work for me to download (file listed as html and not zip) so does the 0.9.3 beta contain the XTM fixes? The OP readme doesn't ref these changes.
3. And speaking of the editing, does it make any difference if I install the non-vanilla ships/stations to an XTC new game before running the converter? If they already exist, will the converter be able to bring them over? Or are they ignored to begin with?
Thanks

2. Is the "list" something I can mod myself in one of the scripts? I only have three ApricotSlice ships I really want to bring forward. And if I can, is it the X3R scripts that only grabs Vanilla or is it the X3TC portion that only loads Vanilla from the 8770-L044.xml ?Rob2222 identified a small bug with the color stripping. if you used colored names in reunion you'll need to redownload for the fix.

No SymTec's 0.9.3 does not contain the XTM updates. even thou i sent it to him a long time ago.spoidz wrote:1. Is this link the same file as the OP? the "list" is a bunch of numbers you'll need to convert to figure out which ship is assigned to what number. In order for it to work after you mod the x3r scripts; apricotslice ships will already need to exist in your TC game before you attempt to use the converter. otherwise when you run the game you have "blank" ships or worse.2. any "extras" except XTM will be ignored by converter.3. Okay, I've managed to import just about all of my X3R-XTM empire into XTC. I couldn't save items that have not been converted for XTC like Ashley's XXL facts.
DISCLAIMER: This was done against my X3R-XTM install that was only up to 7.3A as well as had various other scripts/ships/mods. Also my XTC has the PMLite 3.1 and it's extras installed. You may not see some of my ware IDs and have others I don't.
The trick I used was to install my X3R-XTM items (ships mainly) into a XTC start and then use this script from X3R S&M forum to determine both every ware ID from my X3R-XTM and my XTC.
http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... ht=maxmain
Then I simply edited my X3R-XTM 8770-L044.xml to reflect what the converter was changing things into (to reflect what XTC was going to use).
Also I used Notepad++ to compare the WareID outputs from both games and put it all into a text file. I am thinking this may be more of the "list" that others may need to get the last of their items over. Again this is based on my installs only. It does match up with the ones that @WolfMax posted above.
So if it helps anyone else here it is.
WareIDs Compare
The formatting isn't pretty in text but you can open it up in Excel (Delimited with consecutive >>>>). Also I couldn't bring over the Red/Green color coding I have in Excel to highlight differences.
The basic format is:
X3R-XTM WareIDs >>>>>>>> XTC WareIDs
Anywhere one doesn't exist at all, I put the game name to place hold blanks. WareIDs that exist but didn't have any associated text are blank after the ID data.
Thanks again for all the others working on this script

Sorry for digging this out again.
My situation:
Got X3TC and Albion Prelude today (on steam).
Have an old X3-R XTM Save with >500 stations in complexes (all of them work for their own and output weapons or drugs
) and a quite nice fleet.
What I plan:
Starting a new game on X3 TC. play through it. Then start a game in Albion prelude. And import my old game of X3R XTM in it.
My questions:
Is this converter working in X3AP?
If yes: does it work for XTM content to AP? (is there an xtm for AP?)
Offtopic-questions:
Are in XTM for TC or AP all XTM-ships and stations?
Do my complexes still work? (They are well balanced in X3R XTM)
Is this really a good idea or should i better start off completely new?
Thanks for producing these great converters (already used X3-X3-converter for migrating to XTM on X3R)
BTM

BTM,
X3AP official yes would have to come from Symtec or others. I only have X3TC running right now.
I went ahead and deleted my single complex in X3R-XTM since it was small, you have much more to deal with. ALL of those complexes will unlink, so you'll have to put them all back together again.
But for X3TC, everything "should" be able to bring over if you edit the logfile before you run the X3TC script. BUT, you may have to import some things from XTM into your new XTC game just to see what to edit with.
I'm assuming you still have X3R installed? That save will only work in a running X3R game, the converter only runs inside running X3R.
If you decide to go for it, I'll add some other notes on how to catch problems in editing the file.
