Fullscreen windowed mode
Is it possible to run X3:TC in windowed mode, but fullscreen? Some games allow you to. I have the PC specs to run it as such.
My google searches brought up some scripts from 2007 but it wouldn't work.
I'm on Win7 64bit

What TigerLord means is running the game in windowed mode but with window positioned so that the display area, as opposed to the window border and controls around it, exactly matches the screen size. The answer, unfortunately, is no, the game doesn't support that. The closest you can get is to choose a resolution that's very slightly smaller than your screen.
Note that from the 3.2 patch, X3TC supports the "res.dat" file from X3AP which allows you to create custom windowed mode resolutions and could help you set up a resolution that is as close as possible to what you are after. See the X3AP survival guide for details.

Yeah I have a screenshot of it somewhere digging it up

It's not a problem, just a quirk of windowed mode. The solution was easy enough- don't use windowed mode. But now I'll investigate the solution proposed by altering the games resolution to fit better.
I believe KloHunt3r is running a 1920 by 1080 resolution as well and may have the same issue.

I was wondering the same thing. Full screen alt tab doesn't seem to work for me, I can alt tab out but it sits there with a blank screen when i alt tab back to the game.TigerLord wrote:Is it possible to run X3:TC in windowed mode, but fullscreen? I am trying to run windowed mode so I can alt tab out to look stuff up. If I run with the taskbar on auto hide, it pops up when the mouse is on the bottom of the screen (game is not on top I guess), and I can see firefox on the bottom when taskbar is hidden.
example: http://imgur.com/NLe8G,DiFxq
obviously if taskbar is not on auto hide, it stays on the bottom of the screen:

I want to run the game at 1920x1200 with a borderless window, no taskbar on the bottom of the screen.
I found this thread with a forum search, it seems like a program that moves the window, but I don't know if it will help, or tag the game as modified (I do not want a modified tag, especially just to fix something like this that shouldn't be an issue in the first place. I am running at desktop resolution.

There are 2 possible work-arounds for this issues. I know they aren't fixes but they at least allow you to get rid of the task bar.
Either auto hide the task bar so you can't see it, or open task manager and end process on explorer.exe while the game is running.
When you're done just start a new task in task manager and put in explorer.exe.
