I take it Ocean of Fantasy being a warzone is a good thing?
Yep, I totally did! lol.

I see now that you're suggesting adding it as a permanent ware...nice lol. I thought you were proposing selling certain items (jumpdrive for example) as one off purchases but that's a bit silly really... Must have been on something good last night lol.

I still think that having some type of prestege threshhold level for it to even be an option for certain wares would be good, but as the monetary value of a prestege point is configurable I'm not sure how you can really equate value directly. I mean, default is 50,000cr I think but I could set that to something different if I chose... Unless you say for such purchases the prestege value is always 50k per point.

Maybe once you have a certain prestege new items can be selected. To just add the item you pay the full item price (stocking free, either money OR prestege points), then pay the full item price for each you buy.

Oh yeah, Ocean of Fantasy, definitely a GOOD thing...well, for me, not so much for the Boron and Split.

I actually went to Getsu Fune afterwards in my travels and it's even worse there! This time it's the Xenon causing havoc of course...luckily the Boron and the Split declared a truce in my game when the Xenon were seen to be causing some problems...*

Cheers,

Scoob.

* I changed the race setting of Boron/Split to grudge rather than hate to calm thing down a little...things might flare up again in future...

I was actually wondering why the Argon and Paranid were not at each other's throat in my new game. (Default relationship settings, invasions on, sector take over off.)

I guess i need to make them hate each other first.

Greetings, I would like to ask which sector takeover script will work best with this mod. And will the race(s) attack sectors claimed by me?

I was wondering the same. How does STO (sector takeover) by Trickmov interact with this script? I've already conquered about thirty sectors in my game, not sure how that will influence the effects of this script.

This may have been addressed but i have some confusion.

Using
-XRM 1.09
-MBRR
-Improved Races (Non-Chaos)
-Pirate Guild

How well will these work together...

I seem to recall it saying IR works well with MBRR here, but the IR page says it wont...confused...

And if using all four mods together...any recommended settings?

Hi,

IR and MBRR are generally trying to do the same thing so using them together isn't the best idea.

Also, in my experience, I suffered a lot of lag and random lock-ups with IR. I've had no such problems with MBRR. I know IR is being worked on, but the original developer isn't around any more it appears.

Not entirely accurate. IR is being developed further with X-Timelines. Jack08 has re-written the entire base for IR and solved the bugs that plagued the original. So IR 2.0 is running in X-Timelines when it releases for beta soon.

There is a lot more functionality added too, especially regarding Pirates, Xenon and Kha'ak and how the races respond to each other and their enemies.

However at the moment IR has a bug causing the game to lock up, also the claim sector option doesn't function either, MBRR has yet to cause me any trouble at all.

That's due to something referencing A* pathing when it shouldn't as A* is bugged in the lib that's included in IR.

Ahhh, I can't seem to find the config menu... Am a bit of a noob when it comes to X3. Should it be under AL Plugins? I can see Xenon military bases option there.

edit - I'm using XRM 1.09, MARS and a couple of the other mods from Gazz mentioned in the XRM install thread if that makes a diff.

Thanks

@ MrKWMonk

You need to setup a hotkey for the Community Plugin Config Menu. Just hit this hotkey and you will see a menu with options for MBR.

@ Ferenczy66

-XRM 1.09
-MBRR
-Pirate Guild

are a perfect combination - I use it myself.

I have found that IR causes game freezes and lockups as well as performance issues. Its not really necessary with the XRM jobs improvements anyway - there's already plenty of action from Xenon, Khaak and Yaki, plus we have improved Pirate behaviour immensely.

That's cool. Very happy to hear it's still being worked on as it was one of my favourites, it's just a shame that there were a few issues with the currently available release. Excellent work getting those last few remaining bugs squashed...and adding even more features!

I think when scripters work with the mod makers like this it really can lead to some great experiences.

Looking forward to trying X-Timelines...off to find the thread now... :)

Sorry, but the problem still occurs. Reset solved the case only until the next run of the game.
Also in the new game, experiencing this problem. Previously, it was OK.

Hi,

Things are going fine generally still however I do have one oddity.

Despite the Argon and Boron being set as Friends they go at each other at EVERY opportunity it seems. Everywhere I've been I'll see them duking it out.

I've confirmed all MBRR friend/foe settings, I've even done a re-install of the script, but they still go at it!

I've seen ships sometimes have a bit of a skirmish due to the odd stray shot, but never to this scale!

FYI: still using this with XRM 1.09.

Edit: I've not seen the odd bug with nulls and 1's where race data should be myself...and I've been playing way too much...

Cheers,

- i had lazcorp claim sector installed, and i claimed some sectors to mine from unknown, and alsı this script makes the old owner of the sector enemy to the player if player claims a race sector.. so this means it has reach to race notorieties, maybe creating some conflict with MBRR,, uninstalled, and trying to make a fresh install of MBRR..

EDIT:
no, nothing changed at all,, i removed lazcorp claim sector first, than set MBRR to default and turned back sector claims that also changed my sector bac to unknown.. uninstalled mbbr..
uninstalled plugin, and checked in game for left over scripts in cache, deleted 2 leftover script ... ( i hoped it made my game clean, but not )

when i opened my new game, and installed fresh mbrr, i saw my old settings were there, i cant find where MBRR saves it settings. :)

Update v2.15

 Updating: open the config menu and hit "Install/update".

 Added per-race config menu option for "defensive" invasions. This means a race will only invade sectors that originally belonged to them.

 Added ECS comm ability to trade prestige for basic upgrades to be stocked at an outpost. Enable/disable and configure amount of points required via the config menu (advice on a good default value would be appreciated).

 Made the uninstall process more thorough (i.e. when you hit "Uninstall" in the menu). This should help with any menu bugs you are seeing.

So following on from my above post...

Anyone experiencing menu wierdness, try hitting "Uninstall" in the config menu (which will now also reset all your settings, except race relations), then "Install/update".

I would also be very interested in hearing from (un)successful stories of player-owned sectors and how they are handled by MBR.

@Scoob: try changing the race relations of argon/boron to something else, then hit "Save settings" then change back to friend and save again. Other than that, not sure. Were the argon/boron enemies in your game in the past, and you have recently changed them back to friend?

Hi,

I will do as you suggest.

No, the Argon and Boron were set by me to Friend right at the start of my game.

Cheers,

Scoob.
