Hi, I have a problem, I started with my Argon Elite, did a few fighting missions for the Boron and the Argon, earned some cash (but not much), gained some reputation and fighting rank.
But now, all the fighting missions I find spawn M3s against me which makes things really hard when it's not impossible.
Since I can't really trade with my M4, I'm in some kind of dead end, here. Any suggestions of what I should do ?

If brute force doesn't solve your problems, then you aren't using enough

heh sign me up for that! the first time it was cool...then it got kinda...well...like a seat belt warning noise.Requiemfang wrote:In SRM Paulwheel came up with the bright solution of removing betty saying connecting to trading network established

K I see yall's point i thought they had like re-coded every mission and stuff. I can see where that would be a low priority then.

dillpickle:"M5's and M4's can no longer hold 'M' sized freight (which passengers are unless it got changed), so although they can install CLS, they can't carry passengers. "
Passenger size is "null"/None/No-Size so M5 works perfectly fine for transporting passenger unless the mission asks specifically for a TP

I noticedthe same about OTAS Reaper when i was chased by pirate fleet i ran for cover towards OTAS ships and they just stood there. Reaper shot hes turrent only against piraes and didnt moved. But it helped me enough thoughRequiemfang wrote:Taxi missions is what I suggest, also... has anyone noticed OTAS military ships kinda stay stationary and not move one bit?

After that i got the idea of capping that slowpoke Reaper. Turned out that he wakes up when you cap it

Well I think I have 5 full days playing it now (seta free) and I must admit it took a long time to get the credits to make any headway. - It started as a Teladi (very easy start) and found loads of factories wanting to pay extra for energy - And still do even now. - I think it was about 30 hours playing before I get a TS+ but worth the wait.
Someone should start a savegame exchange for XTC.

Is it just me of does Terrans don't have any "multi-sector" partol missions?
Moreover, does patrol sector mission have somehow diffrent mechanic?
I mean most times when I have patrol sector mission, I fly around sector and from time to time the group of hostiles jump in and after I deal with couple of such groups the mission if finished.
but
sometimes when I enter the sector the hostiles already is waiting for me near the gate I was jumping in (ambush??)
recently in Terran space when I had a patrol mission, there was unusual behavior. All hostile ships spawned at once just as I jump in. Three fighter groups ambushed me near north gate, so I jump to the south gate, where, in some distance from that gate already two fighter groups was attacking the local freighters. That was awesome. I almost got my ass kicked and was never so happy to see local Katana with it's fighter coming to the rescue
If such variety is intended the I congratulate you XTC team, I hope that you do even better in 2.0.

Eh, I did the argon start with normal difficultly, been spending some credits here and there for cargo space, engine enhancement which I maxed out and of course rudder. My Argon rep is high enough that I'm earning more then 10k per taxi run now, though I'm trying to stay away from most combat missions, don't have the shields and weapons to deal with anything bigger then M5's and a lone M4 or two. 2 M4's and a duo of M5's of course is death to me, to many targets for my low shielded Elite and of course too much fire to my arse. M3's... depends... on if it's too focused on it's main target... if it turns to face me... I'm practically dead meat.
So I'll stick with Taxi missions mostly and do the occasional escort freighter missions

Better forget about that. A "normal" exchange like exists for X3R is already complicated, but a version for XTC has to include all informations about the universe expansion (ships, stations, gates and sectors), which makes it much more complicated...Gavrushka wrote: Someone should start a savegame exchange for XTC.
Although I was teammember and know about the scripts in XTC, this task is going over my skills/time available... and I bet others will find it also too complicated to invest time into.

The model itself is actually from XTM.EmperorJon wrote:Anyway, who designed Shivan? They're bloody murderous! I spawned one in and flew around the sector toasting everything, then blew up some stations.![]()
The top quality firebreath is just a 4km PBG!
And just like in XTM you're not supposed to fly them. But I resisted the urge to implement a universe-scan every now and then to destroy all "illegal" lifeforms. It's your game after all, you decide how much you cheat in it.
At least now you have an idea what a fully grown Shivan can do at X-Treme Lifeform Difficulty setting

They might get a little smack with the balancing hammer at a later time, though.

Passengers are no longer M class freight, but do take up 6 units of cargo space.dillpickle wrote:What ship are you flying?Red5x5 wrote:I found a bug. I have a taxi mission and I have life support on my ship, but when I dock something is wrong.
The NPC comes on and tries to tell me what is wrong, but the ships computer talks right over the NPC letting me know I have connected to the station.
You may want to make it so the NPC talk after the ships computer is done chattering.
Some of these missions specify a Passenger Transport or Luxury Transport, so only a TP will do.
M5's and M4's can no longer hold 'M' sized freight (which passengers are unless it got changed), so although they can install CLS, they can't carry passengers.
Check your message log to see if it tells you what the problem is.
@Red5x5 - I get most of my credits in taxi/transport missions and I've not found any problems with them. Check your cargo space to make sure you have enough space, also a lot of these mission they ask for a quick taxi but want a passenger transport so make sure you check the mission log.

It handles pretty well - 6.0rpm - that is faster than M6s and with excellent shielding and massive weapon energy banks that recharge very quickly - I do use it for battling anything up to M6 size but it has no front lasers however the left and right will fire almost forwards. - I could buy any ship up to an M7 now but I really prefer the Drake for the time being (I usually do trade missions anyhow)SIMON POPPLEWELL wrote:I noticed the Drake is the fastest out of the XXL freighters, how does it handle? I was thinking about getting one to replace my rather slow Notus.Gavrushka wrote:Get yourself a Drake TS+ Cargo ship and they are toast... Along with Xenon PXs..

The drakes definetly the best out of the TS+ ship of the major races, it has zero competition because of its balance of high speed and fairly large cargo capacity. The next fastest is the Terran one, but try buying one and upgrading it.
One side of the model of the drake doesnt react well to certain lighting conditions, with bits of the split paneling going darker than the rest of the hull, so thats an issue that needs to be dealt with.

Hmmmm think I saw one of the Yaki frigates have a problem. I noticed that you could see inside some of the model... not sure... which model it was...
it was the Akurei
[ external image ]
I noticed a bit of the mid bulky section seemed translucent and thought maybe the rendering into game didn't go so well cause I could see into the rest of the ship from that part when it's looked at from certain angles
