Nope... or did you see boron police attacking split in vanilla? its exactly the same here.In Boron sectors, I can shoot any split ship (I started off with them at -5 to me) without the police killing me. I also gain Boron rep. The odd thing is that the police don't shoot the Split at all. Shouldn't they be attacking them? (These are just traders btw not Split invasion forces)
its a single value set in types\globals.txt ... change it to your liking, that's what modding is about.i move for having the comms range extended to sector wide. set it to 20,000 or something so you can comm anywere in the sector

...which actually may be a very bad idea.DrSysAdmin wrote:@costi - yes the 500km comm mod works fine. Just add it as the next cat/dat pair.
It sure must work (for the com range that is) but the original 500km mod is based off the wrong vanilla file and if the XTM guys did change anything else in types/Globals.txt it may very well restore those - now wrong - old vanilla values, too.
I believe someone already posted an updated XTM based 500km mod somewhere back in this thread here but I am too lazy to search for it now.
As an alternative you could also use mine here for XTM - increases the com range to only 150km however.

I am having trouble with the Aldrin. Most of their sectors are empty, Bean is the only place where they have stations it seems, and when I do missions for them, I do not get any rep increase with them.
Not sure if this has been brought up in the many pages of postings but I didnt see anything.
Any advice would be great as I am trying to raise my rep with them...

That was me, and I broke it out into a new thread since I'm apparently not the only one interested.Teladidrone wrote:I believe someone already posted an updated XTM based 500km mod somewhere back in this thread here but I am too lazy to search for it now.

I found a bug. I have a taxi mission and I have life support on my ship, but when I dock something is wrong.
The NPC comes on and tries to tell me what is wrong, but the ships computer talks right over the NPC letting me know I have connected to the station.
You may want to make it so the NPC talk after the ships computer is done chattering.

What ship are you flying?Red5x5 wrote:I found a bug. I have a taxi mission and I have life support on my ship, but when I dock something is wrong.

Some of these missions specify a Passenger Transport or Luxury Transport, so only a TP will do.
M5's and M4's can no longer hold 'M' sized freight (which passengers are unless it got changed), so although they can install CLS, they can't carry passengers.
Check your message log to see if it tells you what the problem is.

it's not a problem with the mission I know I need a dif ship it's that the mission NPC and the station/ship computer "Voice overs" overlap and all you get to hear is the station ramble on about being connected bla bla.
You never get to hear the voice over of the NPC. You can still see what the NPC said by looking at your log at least.
Sorry guess I did make it clear what I was calling a bug in the first post.

Does turning subtitles on help? Does the mission counter still tick or is the mission gone. What ship are you flying? What does the mission actually state in the briefing? Does the destination still exist? Are you able to dock at it?
IF you still think it is a bug then read the first post and post it in the relevent forum.
(I've never had any issues - balked install perhaps?)

Forget the mission a sec.
the game has voice overs for docking. It also has voice overs for missions. When you dock everyone wants to talk at the same time.
It's like you get a phone call and say hello.....then your 5 year old pokes you on the leg and starts talking loudly so you missed everything the person on the phone just said....and that annoys you.
Never mind though I guess I am not making it clear sorry.
Goes back to play

if you accept taxis b4 you dock this will happen. if you dock the game autosaves connects you to station bla bla and then you comm and accept mission i dont think it happens. just to clarify this happens in vanilla aswell so i wouldnt call it a bug the xtc team need worry about. im sure there up to the eye balls scripting plots

I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!
