I am more curious how he is going to get to scale plate green with just over an hour of O2...

Read carefully, O2 is "stolen" from stations by cutting a hole into them with your "Repaircutdestructionwhatever-Laser".

I'm just waiting for that first RSLG maneuver... you know it has to happen sooner or later.

So... which way is "up?"

1. If this is possible, then why don't we do that? Yes, it spices up the story.
2. If he docks, why does not he tell us? I wouldn't mind. But - no spice then.
3. If none of the above, then too bad... How much oxygen left?
I am quite frankly at a loss here, but then again, I don't pretend I know everything about the game. I don't even know if I could repeat his adventure up to this point only :)
Does all this make me a heretic? So what :P

You don't replenish air by docking at a station. I know, I've tried. But it's been a while and I don't remember if there's one or two hours of air on board, but I think it's only one. If one, he's not going to make it to SPG without a script or other 'artistic license'. If two, he might just pull it off. Time will tell.

Doing the strafe maneuver would get him to about 70m/s. How many kilometers will he have to cross? My guess is that an hour is just enough time... Though Circle of Labour and Nyana's Hideout are both dauntingly large sectors...

You can do it Leo!! :D

It's a "story", and I'm pretty sure the ship he started with is still "existant", just to replenish O2, but hey, he's putting that all together into a nice story and that "O2-giver" is just there for nothing else, so it fits in pretty well and does not need to be mentioned.

According to his last post, he has less than two minutes left on his first hour. And he's got a longer distance to go than he's already come. So if it's two hours of air, he might make it to SPG. But those retrieve ship missions sometimes like to place the ship a long ways away. He'd better not tary!

Of course it's just a story, but it's a DiD one, so real O2 levels are the requirement to actually believe it, if it's to be believed (repeated successfully, that is).

However, we will see, suffocation is always fun. =)

It does after you have accepted it; I usually check the ship before going on my merry way to collect it.

As Nanook has pointed out, in X3:TC, you can't get air from a station. From a story stand point: You can't drill a hole in the side of a staion and refill your pressurized O2 tanks (assuming the station didn't have self sealing hulls.). You would need to tap into a pressurized line. Which would NOT be running on the outside of the hull where it could freeze or boil.

From a story line and to be consistant with what NS has written: The only plausable explanation is the station has external O2 taps for its own crew to use whan they service the station and Our hero Steve had to use his repair laser to bypass whatever safety system there was on the tap.

Which still leaves the questions: Is there one hour in the tanks or two? And how will he make it to Scale Plate Green, and the abandoned ship, on 2 to 62 minutes of air?

You know, the story is N-S's... So I wouldn't venture to explain myself things that are left obscure by the storyteller. Moreover, as he plays a DiD line, from a real-time ("reality"-wise) point of view, he has exactly (100% at the start - x% consumed on the way) O2 left. This is my view anyway, which I hold on to. :P

I, for one, would grant N-S a small degree of artistic licence. Because the story is more important.

Would you rather:

a) Argon Police file a report for finding a frozen corpse found floating in its own waste?

or

b) the story of how N-S escapes the rozzers in his shiney, stolen Pegasus?

Besides, I want a chapter title to top "We Come In Peace, No Really!".

Did anyone finish compiling a complete version of Squiddy and McGyver?

I never actually finished them, but don't want to have to trawl through a bunch of posts either...

I hope you noticed I didn't go into what WOULD have happend if he HAD cut through the hull of a space station with several thousand cubic feet of air inside at one atmosphere....

Actually, nothing would have happened. In the X universe, there is no atmospheric pressure, or the first hull breach on a ship would send it spinning like nuts. Since none of the ships do and you never see any condensing gasses exiting damaged ships, it's safe to assume that air in the X universe is unpressurised.
