Here's a new version 1.21, it was coded in a hurry and it alters a bunch of script files, nearly all of them as a matter of fact. I'm totally unable to reproduce the game-crash bug you're experiencing no matter the settings. To be honest with a script like:

If killer.race = Pirate then
- Do pirate related stuff
else if killer.race = Player
- show thankyou message from the guild
end
I don't see where my logic fails :/

However, i've changed the way ships targeted by the Guild are handled amongst too many things to be reported, so it may (or not) correct your issue, you tell me. I don't like the way i've changed this part of the script as it may cause minor issues with other scripts using signals like RRF (not really noticeable for the lambda user, though).

I'm beginning to suspect that one or several scripts/mods you're using are conflicting for a reason or another. So a list would be more than welcome. I knew most of the X3:R scripts, but now i'm not aware of what people use now.

I may ask for a savegame if this version doesn't clear the bug.

Anyway this new version is intended to be used on a clean savegame, or even better in a new game, do NOT use it on a savegame with 1.0x or 1.20 enabled.

btw, funny i wasn't expecting PB to buy terran ships or to spawn in terran sectors, never happened to me before, but it's not related to the issue.


Now about ECS:

Yeah it's kinda confusing, i should have never published a pre-ECS2.0 version of PG. So, let's explain a few things. When you install PG, it in fact install 2 plugins in the Artifial Life menu:

Pirate Guild 3 -> Disabled at game start
ECS: Extended Communication System -> Enabled at game start

When you toggle PG on, it registers to ECS and it allows to use the hotkey. If you had the v1.0x or the 1.20 with a missing file enabled, it may register incorrectly and ECS won't even add the hotkey.

Anyway in both cases, please try the 1.21 on a clean and nice savegame where there is no trace of previous version of PG and ECS should be enabled just fine.

Here's the thing. The lockup always came after the message, not at the message. Usually 30seconds to 1 minute after, but the message always came first, possibly some action cycle the pirates move into after that message/money.

Yes, but only once. I got the exact same message, and just as I was beginning to jump OOS i crashed.

This was the script that messed up my X3R game somehow! :P
Happy it's back, I liked it but couldn't do anything but uninstall it back then.

Well I installed this and for some reason there are ships in my game Like Teladi Courier or Boron Energy Transporter that are Red to me all of which have the "sorry weapons fire in error" option. Which when I select it they go blue to me again. Not all ships are this way just some.

I have the most up to date pirate guild version and started a new game...yet when I enable it, quit the game, then load it back up, it keeps saying "new major version of pirate guild detected...manually disable then enable it back..."

I've done this several times...but every time I keep loading the game, the message always appears.

Get the same freeze as reported by other, just after I get a message thanking me for killing something and 5000 credits (neither me nor any of the ships I owned killed anything). I got the reward message at 05:54 and did not get logged.

I can't get the log to get posted, keeps complaining about having to many smiles. Ill look for a host to put it up on.

Same problem with me :
- got the "major update available" message (no further issue once the ok button has been hit)
- ECS don't work
- got the "thank you for your help, 5000 credits" message with complete freeze.

I uninstall the script but that's frustrating, cause it seems to be a must have

Still loving thi in my game. However, everytime I load up a game I get the message saying I new version of the script has been detected and that I need to reactivate it in the artificial life settings. Any reason why this is happening?

It was fun, but I had a lot of freezes in my game. So I took away one after one of the scripts/mods I had installed. After I removed this one my freezes went away though. By freeze I mean the game just stopped, and I had to alt-tab and end the process.

Yes, this script is causing problems for me too. Had that error where got some message about destroying a ship and being given 5000 credits ( I didnt destroy any ship) and then freeze.

Hey Serial,


I love the pirate guild AL Plugin from X3:R so I was hyped to see you made it even better for X3:TC.
Unfortunately, I'm getting similar errors as everyone else with the ECS not working.
I have a hotkey assigned (v) but it never opens the dialogs like it did in X3:R.

I did see a possible issue with the ECS AL Plugin linking to the Pirate Guild 3 AL Plugin. It is saying

'anarkis.pirate.init' <Not Found>

in the anarkis.pirate.comm script call.

anarkis.pirate.init is a global variable set in the setup init file of the PG AL. Maybe there is an ordering problem...

If you need more details I'll be more than happy to help :wink:
