[MOD]Reduced rewards for patrol and build station missions
When I started playing TC, I noticed the excessive rewards for the patrol missions (getting 1M for an M3 kill?), so I looked into the director files and changed it.
This is a mod for those that feel like I do, and want to put some challenge back into the game. It was way too easy to amass millions in a short period of time (imo), this makes it more Reunion-like, where you have to work for your money.
Now, kills in patrols will be 1/10th what they were. Same for station build missions. With the station builds, I'm still not 100% sure on their function. As far as I know, you still get your money back for buying the station, but you get a smuch smaller bonus. That part still needs confirmed, if someone would want to help out.

Install:
Option A: drop into your X3 terran conflict\mods folder and enable with the opening menu.
Option B: rename cat/dat files to the next highest cat/dat pair in the main X3 terran conflict folder (false patch).
I'm not sure if you can make a "director" folder in the main and drop the raw files in there. I haven't tested that. That method works for types files, so I would think it'd be possible.

Fud interesting as usual
Director folder
Maurader Shipyward by Teladidrone made one in my X3 TC folder, might be worth seeking out his wisdom in this matter
Not adding anymore mods to my game until 1.3 is out so will test this then.

Thanks for this. Seems like when id lose a m1 or m2, id just go do a mission and go buy a new one. Wont be a inconvience now when one of those goes down, lol.
btw, sorry fud but you made it to my KOS list on lv's dma plugin. Not sure why but you almost always kill me if i dont go after you right off the bat if you apear in one

The values for race rep (in regard to kills) is hardcoded. At least, it was in Reunion, it was just a lot lower.
I don't think there's anything you can do about that.
At least limiting the payouts will add *some* challenge again.
Afterall, what good is Hero rank, when you only have enough cash to buy a Disco.

Well, hopefully Egosoft will lower it for the next patch. It may not matter being a Hero when you can't afford anything but it's still slightly annoying to reach that rank so quickly. I mean, Heroes are meant to be rare. It should be a real challenge to reach that rank.
Would it be possible to create a script that basically reduces your rank whenever you destroy a ship during a mission? Say killing an M2 gives you +100 units of reputation. Would it be possible to create a script that gives you -80 when you kill an M2 so overall, you'll get only +20 units of reputation?
It certainly won't be a pretty script because it'll calculate twice for every ship killed but it would solve the problem at least.

You could, but the problem is, unlike in Reunion, I can't seem to see any values for the ships...
R was 250pts for "big" ships, 5 for M5, 10 for M4, 15 for M3, etc.
You used to be able to read the values in the ship info screen when the SE was enabled. That's no longer available, so I have no clue what the new values are relative to what you killed...
Bummer.

Nice work! I killed a Xenon P outside mission, as it loitered behind, and got 5000 credits as a normal kill. So it got me thinking. What about just setting bog standard rewards?
N = 500, M = 1000, L = 5000 are normal ones. Maybe P could be 10000 and capital ships could be 50000? Just a thought
And that way the newbies would not get only 16 credits for a N kill anyhow
And the construction missions now just cost you. There is never any reward really as they offer you much less than the actual structure costs but I never did those missions anyhow
