[SCR] Out-of-combat Regen (v1.06 - 17.04.08)
Das entsprechende deutsche topic ist hier.
The term OOC regen is usually found in MMORPG but it's basically the same thing here. Anyway, it's just a name.
=======================================
What the script does:
In vanilla X3 ships sometimes have their shields recharged instantly when docking at a ship or station.
This undocumented feature is pretty inconsistent, depending on things like you personally flying the ship or not and/or the ship being OOS or not.
In short, it sometimes works.
This script does it everytime. Every one of your ships.
A ship docks, shields are full. Simple.
=======================================
Techy stuff:
This is an AL-plugin.
Note that it can take up to 5 min for this feature to activate on a newly acquired ship.
[ external image ] (ZIP)
Installation: Copy all 3 files into the scripts folder.
Deinstallation:
1. Turn the script off in the AL settings menu,
2. then delete those 3 files from the script folder.
Turning the AL-plugin off will also stop all running OOCR-scripts on your ships.
The CPU usage is then basically zero.
Version history:
1.02 First release
1.06 Now mimics the behaviour of the undocumented shield recharge of X3. Sans the randomness.

My complete script download page. . . . . . I AM THE LAW!
There is no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

With an M3 the shields were recharged, with an M7 they were not...
Judging by this inconsistency it's simply a bug. Be happy if it works.
Besides, the exploit only works on the playership as far as I have seen.

I've heard enough about this feature and decided to simply implement that instead.
Saves some CPU time since setting shields to full is just one line. =)
So... version 1.06 released.
It doesn't look pretty any more but *shrug* it's the original ES way. =)

The SPK format certainly has it's uses for extensive script packages but this script consists of nothing more than 3 files that all go into the same folder.
For larger stuff with TFiles, readmes and whatnot I usually supply an SPK version as well.
