An interesting read. Though aren't Ipods not allowed to be carried on board?
A new rig is in my hands now if only there was time...

Hahahahaha

Ow my sides.
That poor bloke. Nice of him to write it all up for everyone to read. Just a tip for anyone going to the x-con, leave your ipod at home, take a book on the plane instead, they are a lot harder to accidently flush, trust me.

I remember that BF2 players were called terrorists once also....they said that they were making terrorist training mods for the game or something.

It's all just part of the everyone and everything you do is terrorism.....the word terrorism these days no longer has any substance.
If it is to close your eyes that you seek, to
become deaf to the truth, to dismiss the obvious
- then you have succeeded most thoroughly.

"Why has it taken you over 4 months to find a job ?"

"Because Im a pathetic loser too busy playing a game with monthly fees and would rather blow large amounts of money on an I pod, and plane fare to meet a person I know nothing about. Besides all the unemployment benefits are sweet".

But seriously I fail to see the tie in with WoW other than the guy met the other person while playing the game. I guess it makes good press (shrug).

Nice, really nice.

I used to beep everytime I passed airport security... Which always ended up in quick personal searches. Then I reduced the amount of 'metal' (necklace, chains, watch, change, braclets) I carry with myself - I actually didnt get searched last time :)

"Standing up to those guys" is not exactly the impression I got from reading the article (shrug). But its not really important.

Well you right about WoW - after all they call it World of Warcrack. But cant say it's pathetic though - people here spend lots of time playing X3.

By "Standing up" I meant when (as he said) he started talking back about freedom of speach and such. He might be right, but the police (or whoever) could have make life more difficult for him.

And yes, it really has nothing to do with WoW other than that this guy posted it on WoW forum :)
It's not like it's carefully thought through essay.

Speaking of questioning officials;
On my citizenship (american citizenship) application, and during my interview there were following questions:

[] are you a member of any terrorist organization
- I thought making a joke here would be kinda bad, so I said NO! :)

[] are you a member of a communist party or "any other totalitarian organization"
- Well I didnt get to be in one,
But I am thinking, first of all, why do YOU care and what's wrong with that? I am pretty sure it's LEGAL under US law to belong to Communist party. Second, "any other totalitarian organization" - what's that all about? I am not a history buff, but I didnt think Communism = Totalitarian regime. Besides all those communist parties and countries who used to call themselves "communist" never been real communist parties/countries.
Anyway I decided not to try my luck with that dude, and just said No with a smile :)

I think your missing my point.

I was not saying he was a pathetic loser for playing WoW, I'm saying its sad that he 1.) spends monthly fees on a game 2.) spends large sums of money to fly to meet some girl when he should be looking for a job (shrug).

But hey maybe Mommy is rich

As to your application ... as if any terrorist would say "Hell yes Im a terrorist and proud of it !" Pffft whatever.

Its just a legal binding document so that if it turns out that you are indeed a member of such orginizations and lied on that form they have a "legal" leg to stand on to throw your butt out of the country without being tied up in the courts for months on end.

I remember the little ticky-box leaflet on entering the USA, I very very nearly put down "Yes" under the Communist Party one.

I'm not sure if it is still there, but on the Dell website there was a page towards the end of the order process where there was a question "Will this computer be used for the development of weapons of mass destruction?". I had to think about it for a while before answering.

Hehe yeah, maybe that's it :)
Well if your point is that he'd rather 1) and 2) instead of looking for a job - then yeah, he's not a "responsible" type :) But yet we dont know how old is he. Then again I flew to another state in US to meet with a "online" friend too... Although I paid for all that myself of course.

Exactly! The question is just dumb.

Ok, I can see that, but what happens if you do say that you ARE a member of Communist party? What's then?
I wouldnt advise that to anyone to try, though. You may not be able to prove your point.

Well I wanted to ask the guy that question on the interview, but it wasnt worth it.
