Please dont shoot me down in flames for this, I have looked in the FAQ and everywhere else but its not clear.
I have been "away" for a long time. Do I need to download all the other patches before the Bala GI patch, or does this encompass the other patches, and do I load the bonus pack after or before the BalaGI patch.
Bear in mind I will be starting from version 1.0 in what is essentially a reload. .......Finally got fed up with Oblivion....
Love and kisses Dunners

Congrats on 2.0.1 also 2.0.02
People are often quick on the offensive when things and games do not work as they should, so i though it was about high time that something more posative was written. I have been comming to this site since X2 and have always been impressed with Egosoft and the effort the have put in. While i myself was quick to point out the flaws in the new 2.0.01 game i still have to take time to say A MASSIVE THANK YOU for your efforts. Since the original X3 came out you have continually made FREE improvments, which would have taken a considerable amount of time and effort from all involved.
With much appreciation

Re Bala Gi Research Missions
Well done guys, I fully agree with Droffy and BlackvBlack regarding their comments.
Egosoft have put a great deal of hard work into offering an excellent game. The recent BalaGi add on pack should be welcomed and appreciated, not criticized and condemned. No one means to harm anyone surely, they are only trying to help us all.
I am also pleased to say, that every game, add on patch, upgrade has in every case loaded and played for me with no problems. Maybe I am lucky but my PC and specs were good in June 05 when I bought it, it is no longer cutting edge. The game is sometimes slow and judders etc but clears.
My advice to all players, (with respect) because I do it almost every day, is to run not one, but two registry cleaners/repair programs and see the difference in PC performance. I do this every day as well as de-frag, not with the very basic windows de-frag, but another program. Hence my PC and my game runs very well, also I run anti-virus and am on broadband I do not turn them off. I am not boasting, just saying it works for me. Thanks guys.
In conclusion, all I am saying, is the game has served me well, I have a lot to learn but, come on its FUN and ENJOYMENT that we seek.
BIG THANKS TO EGOSOFT AND ALL THE STAFF, BETA TESTERS AND ALL WHO DO SO MUCH TO HELP......... MANY VOLUNTARILY.
Cheers guys, I appreciate what you do and also the prompt and kind responses from so many of you, who know me. Well done, peace, gratitude and warm wishes to you all, and NOT forgetting all the community I am a part of, we have one of the best, if not the best forums on the net, agreed??
Thank you all for reading this

Re: NEWS: X³ 2.0: Bala Gi Research Missions - download now!
Thanks guys for improving the game, took My Centaur with A Titan for back up, oh & a Mamoth to help take my M5 for quicker recon.
Question:
Is the HQ a stand along factory or can I bolt it to an existing complex but still have M1 etc dock with it? I'm backing up my saves in case I muck it up?
Also the M7 is a dream! can I reverse this one so I then have the blue prints & build a fleet of them?
the write up does say you can reverse engineer any ship to get the blue prints!
Say goodbye to your social life!

You are getting confused. If you look carefully you'll see that there are two sizes for each download. The smaller one is the BitTorrent file which is just a stub which allows your BitTorrent client to start downloading. The larger one is the normal download for those who don't use BitTorrent.
You also need to make sure that you download the correct update for the version you started out with. If you had 1.4 on your disk, for example, then there is no point in downloading the much larger 1.0->2.0.02 update.

Check again. unmarkedhelicopter is correct. The download page for the full (non-BitTorrent) 1.0 -> 2.0.02 download lists the file size as 14.1 kB. Someone likely 'cut and pasted' the wrong number for the file size.CBJ wrote:You are getting confused. If you look carefully you'll see that there are two sizes for each download. ....

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

Yep. All four 1.0 -> 2.0.02 downloads are marked as 14.1kB.Nanook wrote:The download page for the full (non-BitTorrent) 1.0 -> 2.0.02 download lists the file size as 14.1 kB. Someone likely 'cut and pasted' the wrong number for the file size.

nice to see the patch for the 2.0 turning up so soon, but i would personally love the option when starting a new game to have none of the small rocks in sectors, they are more a hindrance than a help really.
i am sure that any sector owner would of destroyed any rocks along the flight paths so that trade doesnt get messed up

About the name - i was lost for a name on the forum and looking round, then a Bob Hope film came on, and i thought "that will do nicely"
i was born and raised argumentative i dont mean to offend ...... sorry
