Adding New Type of Shields

I am using the Apricot mod for Albion Prelude and want to add new type of shields . I have created a new factory in TFactories with an ID and Description , base upon an existing model. Added the new shields to the TShields with IDs as well. Using the X3Editor, I was able to change the shields with the Apricot Buster to one of the new shields. I did add the new factory the the WaresTemplate.xml do not show the shields plus the wares are not correct. Using the cheat, the shields are in the list of compatible shields and can add them as ware to your ship or station . Looking through the forums, I have heard you need to create a script for this to work but did not have enough information on how to create the script.
