Map on a second display monitor
Any software that could make a copy of the actual sector map and display it while playing on the main monitor.
Kinda hard to manage shields status of own M6 escorts wile playing.
Any script to add that information to the display of the game will do but i can't find any. Just like if you set two ships to the left and right displays (instead of auto target and that stuff) and then minimize them just to see the stats.
Thanks

there is no such mod at current, but we are working on it in X-Timelines.

I cannot speak for others, but your question seems ambiguous, so you may get multiple responses.
When you say, "second monitor", do you mean another physical LCD or CRT? And you just want to be able to look at the map for reference? If yes, then look at: X3 Map (Scorp).
If your goal is to see the sector map while flying, then look at the "Transparent Menus" .cat in: YS-HUD-Mod. It allows you to see through the sector map while flying.
If you have trouble installing Transparent Menus, then I can repack it for easier installation.

I belive he is speaking of a live sectormap deliverd to another monitor via gathering and exportin nessesery information to another application.
At least that is what i was thinking of a long time ago. Like a tactical overview for live reference. Then you can control where your fighters are and stuff like that.
If such live data exporting (or like every few seconds) is possible then it could as well be wings comands reference. Just to make sure those bastards *realy* got the message

Well that's what i've been talking about. I do belive it's possible but, to be realistic, exporting live data from X could be realy, realy (and by that i realy mean "REALY") cpu-heavy. Too many scripts and things happen.
Still if it is possible to export only sector map data via script - things get better - you just need a thing to read it.

we have this in X-Timelines, Image
My goal is to eventually extend it to a second DirectX device on a second monitor; However, even with the X-Timelines in memory interception routine of log message before they reach the windows API & Disk Drive - there is still a majorly large impact on performance when you have too many ships sending update query's back to the DLL.
My hope is to be able to one day optimize the X-Timelines DLL further to allow for a full read-only tactical map on the second screen, but i have to do alot of work before the amount of data transfer needed is even possible. If, and i stress IF, it does become possible - my next goal would be to make that screen intractable, and able to use it as an RTS control mechanism for ships.

What you are doing in X-Timlines is great, maybe I will move to it once XRM runs out of fun for me, as it would mean reinstall the game and I have the steam version.
Just about the topic, that scrennshot shows exactly my second option: to have the info onscreen while playing. Really, don't you think is the best way to feel wheather you are lossing; hard battles are those you can't afford to open and close de map. I am not asking for theese because of being a greed teladi who don't want to loose a single ship, I just whant the game to tell me how are my forces as I can't see that while focusing on the enemy.
About the CPU load, I thought this game engine only used one CPU core. I have an "old" 4core (one of the first models) and I am not affraid of giving a hard load to the other 3. Maybe I'm mistaken, tell me if so.

Re: Map on a second display monitor
Any progress on this?
I wish there was a way to open the X3tc map by Scorp on my second monitor (not on my main monitor) so I could play the game and view the map at the same time. I tried Shift + WinKey + ArrowKeyLeft to move it. It moved but when I tried to interact with it, couldn't open any sector, only move it around and that's all.
