I tried yesterday with Open Office and all I can get to come up is the stuff in the "Names" tag.

i cant seem to get my export tship file which is getting saved as a normal textfile to open in X3 Editor 2 with its T file editor. Is yr exportfile incompatable with the T file editor part of X3 Editor 2 ?
Trying to open with T file editor gives me error ''Line 3 col 5 : rotation .x - exspected floatvalue , got 0,005814''

Hm... Do you have European decimals? In other worlds, instead of 0.45 do you use 0,45?

i'm afraid so .. i'm from Europe. I think i installed my windows 7 64bit with European settings.

It also causes my save games to not load / corruption warning and with new game i get weird starting ship (TL)..

edit : just verified .. my windows 7 is indeed using '','' any chance you can make an european version of this excellent xcel tool too?

Let me see if I can write a filter for the backward way you Europeans do things.

It won't work with Open Office as it's using macro's made in VB which are MS Office specific.

Update!

0.59b:
- Fixed regional settings incompatibility for backward regions (decimal, comma thing).
- Added WareLists ID view function. Again, double click it. It'll popup the ware lists.
- Due to the above, all ware files have now been included.

Bug report:

I opened 2 excel instances, made a copy of the tship editor folder and replaced the TShips file of the folder copy.

Now to my problem: I can't copy/paste multiple choice entries. For example the cargo type. Every time I try to copy the entry from one file to another I get a message about "object defined error". After I pressed "debug", excel points me to this piece of code:
Set after = Sheets(Name(ValidateName).RefersToRange.Parent.Name).Cell(Names(ValidateName).RefersToRange.Row, Name(ValidateName).RefersToRange.Column)
in the function: CheckValidation

I tried to reproduce what you're talking about and cannot.

I don't have enough information.

I'm copying and pasting fine from two sheets.

Excel 1: Opened a custom TShips file (vanilla + imp's cockpit mod)
Excel 2: Opened the SRM Tships file

Excel 2: Marked all "Max Transport Class" entries down to line 374 and copied them into the clipboard
Excel 1: Pasted them in the same column

Then this error showed up:

Runtime Error '1004':
Application or object defined error.

I just did what you described. No error.

I am opening two sheets within the same instance of excel. You'll have to rename one sheet to do so.

I tried to open both files in the same excel instance, same error.

Maybe Excel just hates me. I will send you a link to both TShip files.

EDIT: PM sent.

You sent me the TShips. Where are the rest of the files?

I didn't send you any of the other files because they are not modified.

SRM changes TLasers, TWareN, TWareT, WareLists, and TCockpits. I have no idea what the cockpit mod changes.

Anyway, I tried it again with your TShips. Copying a a column from one to the other works fine.

The Cockpit mod only changes TShips and Animations.

SRM changes some files, yes. But I do not need them. I didn't modify or save the SRM Tships file.

I tried it anyway and I still get the same error.

Looks like I have to modify all dropdown fields one by one. It works that way without errors.

EDIT:
Then it's my Excel version (Excel 2010). Sorry to steal your valuable time. You did a great job with this tool.

Version 14.0.5128.5000 (64 bit)

Maybe your macro doesn't work correctly with the 64 bit version?
