Games-starts

Lost in Space:

While returning from a mission in the X-universe galaxy, your fleet of warships encounters a wormhole, landing you in a far-flung galaxy. Having no means of communication with the home system, your only hope is to explore this region of the universe in an attempt to find friends with whom you may develop alliance. Your fleet is scattered, and their fate is unknown. You must cross vast regions of space full of challenges at every turn!

[ external image ]

Invasion:

This is the original Transcend I scenario adapted for Transcend II galaxy.

The Galaxy is in ruin. Commerce and trade between races has all but ceased and sector economies are collapsing. Key sectors have been lost to the Xenon, Kha'ak and Pirate factions. All the major allied Fleets are engaged in combat against an ever-increasing foe.

Terran High Council has decided that their historically isolationist policy must be set aside to avoid being engulfed by the chaos besetting the rest of the galaxy. You are the commander of a powerful Fleet of ships, with the perilous task of saving the galaxy from ruin.

[ external image ]

Hunted:

This is for those who like a little more combat action in their game. After you destroy 2 Pirate ships, you will receive a warning from Pirate Headquarters. If you destroy 2 more Pirate ships, you had better run, because the hunt is on! They will chase you to the end of the galaxy and through the gates of hell. As you travel, you will find yourself with a growing "pack" of relentless Pirates after your head. You can run, but you cannot hide!

SHIPS

M2 Evader Frigate

Larger than an M7, but smaller than a Destroyer, this formidable warship has internal docking for up to 2 Fighters. This ship possesses defense features characteristic of the famous OSR “Evader” series.

[ external image ]

M1 Mobile Fortress III

The massive Mobile Fortress headquarters is capable of docking multiple Carriers, Destroyers, Transports, and ships of all class. This M1 class ship was designed for the purpose of providing a mobile base station for an entire Fleet

[ external image ]

M3 Mech Uziel (Xenon)

This fearsome and versatile Fighter is the latest development by the Xenon Mech’s. Indications are this ship possesses a highly developed sentient consciousness.

[ external image ]

M1 Mech Mothership (Xenon)

This is an extremely powerful battleship. Little is known about the Mech's except they are thought to be the ancient progenitors of the Xenon’s. None of these mythological intelligent machines has ever been captured “alive”.

[ external image ]

M3 Evader MK6

This is the current production model in the long-running M3 Evader series. This ship and its predecessors are famous throughout the Galaxy, and are a favorite general purpose Scout and Fighter. The Mark VI sports 1 front and 2 rear turrets in addition to 6 front guns. With the advent of the newer MK7, this model is being phased out, but is still very popular particularly among Pirates. Unusual for an M3, this ship sports a front turret in addition to its rear turrets and standard front guns.

[ external image ]

M2 Hailstorm Destroyer

This powerful Destroyer from Observe Space Research shipyards features a very unique rotating “wheel turret” design for extended firing angle. Capable of docking 6 support Fighter ships, the Hailstorm has become the mainstay for local defense, and long-range penetration of enemy sectors.

[ external image ]

M6 Evader Corvette

This sleek Corvette is the latest addition to the renowned Observe Space Research “Evader” series. It is designed as a companion for the classic Evader M3 for long-distance exploration missions.

[ external image ]

TP OSR Passenger Transport

This luxury business-class Passenger Transport is used primarily for carrying diplomats and high-level executives requiring comfort and security. It is also used by wealthy private individuals for home-away-from-home space vacations.

[ external image ]

TS OSR Cargo Transport

As the Observe Space Research ship building empire has increased, so has the cost of leasing cargo transport ships. This is OSR's answer to rising cost, and the requirement for confidentiality of OSR secret advanced research. With both front and rear guns, this ship is capable of defending itself against lone attackers who would illegally obtain OSR freight.

[ external image ]

OSR TS Super Freighter Explorer

[ external image ]

This ship is classed as a TS "Super Freighter".

Features:

- Good speed, shields, cargo, and weapons capable of holding its own against a lone M3 or small pack of enemies – at least long enough to outrun or jump.
- Designed as player ship for the lone explorer/trader

M5 Dart

Observe Space Research fast Scout. Capable of speeds up to 1000 m/s this ship is primarily used for quickly scouting sectors in advance of larger and slower Fleet ships. Also used for transport when speed is of the essence. This ship has very weak shields, but does possess a single front gun capable of mounting IRE or PAC weapon.

[ external image ]

TL OSR Factory Transport

This huge vessel is built to complement the rest of the Observe Space Research ship fleet. Capable of greater than average weapons and speed for vessels of this class, the OSR Factory Transport is a favorite choice for long distance deployment through dangerous regions.

[ external image ]

M1 Deliverance

This is a new class of ship produced by Observe Space Research. It has capability of carrying up to 6 TS/TP’s in its external docking bays, as well as 24 Fighters internally. The Deliverance is a valuable complement to the rest of the OSR Fleet.

[ external image ]

M3 Evader MK7

Not yet released for the mass market, this new model in the long-running “Evader” series of M3 class Fighters represents a complete re-design of the body style. While technically still retaining the characteristics of its predecessors, this new craft remains unproven in the field, and is still in early flight testing. If this ship meets its expectations, it will likely become a favorite among fighter pilots as have others in the series. Unusual for an M3, this ship sports a front turret in addition to its rear turrets and standard front guns.

[ external image ]

M1 Cardinal MC (design by Crip67)

Used by the Terran military for sector defense, this M1 is smaller, faster, and also more affordable than most other Carriers.

[ external image ]

M3 Locust Sentinel (design by Crip67)

This Fighter is designed to escort the M1 Cardinal, and is also uses for general sector defense and Police services.

[ external image ]

M3 Firestorm (Pirate) (design by Killerog)

This fast, agile M3 is known for its deadly weapons and quick mobility. These ships were designed by Pirates for escort, as well as general raiding activities.

[ external image ]

M7 Stinger

This very powerful M7 is a match for almost any situation whether for long distance exploration or for sector defense purposes. It has capacity for docking 2 Fighters, multiple turrets, large cargo space and good speed and maneuverability.

[ external image ]

M6 Mystery Ship
Of unknown origin, this ship has a unique 'space-warp' weapon capable of instantaneously transporting enemy away from it. None of the engineers who have examined this ship has fully understood its operation, but it is suspected this ship is capable of time travel

[ external image ]

M2 Inferno (design by Killerog)

Designed and built by Pirates, this distinctive Destroyer is commonly used for invasion and sector defense operations. Slow but well shielded, this ship always spells trouble wherever it goes.

Notes:

For those who downloaded previous versions, you must use the new Installer program because among other things, the new mod contains custom videos - which the old Installer is unable to process. The new Installer contains various advanced features for compatibility with future expansions.

[ external image ]

The uncompressed mod file is quite large (320 megabytes), but the Installer is less than 1 megabyte.

Considerable effort has gone into this new release. We hope you enjoy it.

When you install the Installer, you can choose where you want it to go. The default location (for XP) is in: c:\Program Files\x3dmod\t2config. I usually put it elsewhere, but it makes no difference.

When you download the mod (via the Installer), the actual zipped mod file will go in sub-directory "mods". In other words, for default installation you will have: c:\Program Files\x3dmod\t2config\mods\transcendII.zip

You MUST run the Installer on your other (gaming) computer. Therefore, do this:

Copy all files and sub-directories from t2config, including the large transcendII.zip file someplace onto your other computer. Providing your gaming computer has .NET 2.0 (or higher) you won't need to re-install the Installer. Simply copy the directories to your gaming computer.

Run the Installer executable (t2Config.exe). The program should detect the downloaded mod. If all goes well, you should be able to follow the instructions from the Installer thread.

That is not the ideal method, but it should work for you. Just remember It is VERY important that you use the Installer to install the mod into X3. Do NOT unzip the mod manually.

Is it possible to use MARS together with this mod? When I select Transcend II in the "select mod package" menu, MARS is not available.

Also, the option to set a hotkey for the community configuration menu is gone and I can't access it.

@costi

AFAIK MARS is a script, not a mod. So it wouldn't show in the "select mod package" dialog anyway, but it should still run (assuming it IS compatible with Transcend anyway)

For compatible mods and scripts please refer to this thread. MARS is on that list.

Transcend does not intefere with scripts (although some may intefere with Transcend). There is no reason the "hotkey for the community configuration menu is gone" that I know of. We will look into this.

The "Available Add-ons" pull-down list in the Installer will become active as soon as we prepare 3rd-party mods/scripts for inclusion.

As for MARS, sorry, got confused. "MARS Repair Drones" are on the mod list, not the whole MARS. still, is it possible to use said drones with TranscendII?
