What do all these different missile options do? A lot of them seem redundant.

i'm on win 7 with all privileges (like I shouldn't...)

so I'm working on my mod again, literally 2-3 hours from being release-ready, and the BOD compiler appears to have crapped out on me. attempting to drag Bobs for decompile of (more pertinent) Bods to compile fails, and I just get the little 'no symbol' over it. It was literally working fine an hour ago, the only thing I can think of is that I just had the Bod compiler launching basically since I installed it (use it a lot lol) and I finally closed the tab it was on before closing the editor proper.

I'm sure it's just something stupid I've forgotten due to almost two years away from TC modding.

Hello,

i played again X3-TC, but i wanted to make some ships only faster to speed up the game a little.

With the script editor you get a ***modified-tag which i dont like.

I thought with doubleshadows ship editor V2 there is a chance to edit only the shipspeed without getting modified.

But after editing the TShip-file there was ingame the modified-tag for every new game.

Did i make a mistake or is there no way to edit something without getting modified?

Thanks for help!

Any change to (most) vanilla files will get you modified tag, regardless of what tools you use.

Thanks for the fast answer!

Bad news, because i hate slow ships, SINZAs and modified-tag :cry:

Why is the program asking me to overwrite something? These two filenames aren't identical!

Please excuse the necromancy, but as this program is still widely used I expect more people to be in the same boat as this user.

There is a bug in the code of CatManager plugin, which makes it treat incorrectly any files that contain more than one dot in their filename while viewing CAT files through VFS.

I had to fix this file for personal use (thanks to the author, who shared the source code), so if you trust in random strangers, you can grab this fixed file here and try it out yourself: https://www.dropbox.com/s/neaxesc33324k ... lugin?dl=0 (backup and replace whatever you have in your plugins folder)

I call that in incorrectly named file, not a bug in the software.

Remove the first dot in the file name before trying to open it.

Hello!
I open TCockpits in cat manager and save as .txt file. In file i see strings:
// Created with X3 Editor 2 (2.0.27.0)
// Plugin T File Editor (1.1.19.0)
51;172;
0;0;0;0;0;0;0;4512;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;-100000;0;0;SS_COCKPIT_DEFAULT;
0;0;0;0;0;0;0;4512;268441806;0;0;0;0;0;0;-100000;0;0;SS_COCKPIT_A_FRONT_M1;
0;0;0;0;0;0;0;4512;276826318;0;0;0;0;0;0;-100000;0;0;SS_COCKPIT_A_REAR_M1;
.....

Where can I find the turrets assigned to each cockpit and export to file?
and for TShips too. need to export the turrets assigned to each ship

Is there a way if there isn't one already that I am just missing, to add a way to edit the hull and shielding of stations, I am play Mayhem 3 and am finding it quite weak, with a mere 10 M3 ships with plasma guns I can take out a xenon station fairly quick, IMO that is and would like to make it more like siege warfare and require larger ships to even bust the stations.

You could increase the shield recharge rate in TFactories and TDocks. Additionally, iirc you can install as many shields you want to stations, which you can easily do via script.

Turrets can be found in objects\ships\props (for some ships also in other subfolders of objects\ships).

The links on doubleshadow's website work fine for me. Which tool are you trying to download?

Thanks taking time to answer, I was looking for x2 editor (but was afraid X2 forum would not have much readers).
doubleshadow.thexuniverse.com is anavailable for me, but Volny.cz mirror turned out to work fine with Chrome. Broken with my FF.
