Well, just had the CAR-T cells inserted, now we wait and see what results we get.

I ATEN'T DEAD. Just very, very confused from the therapy. I don't know how often I'll be able to check back in, so please bear that in mind.

That's one huge relief! I can only begin to imagine how the therapy must be affecting you.

Feel free to continue with your confusion for as long as you want!
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

So still in hospital for treatment for another week or so? Soldier on, and hope they've decent aircon. As said from the start, fingers are crossed on your behalf!

Unfortunately I'll be in hospital for a long time yet...problem is, legal requirements and personal circumstances means likely for eight weeks from my initial treatment date. Fun, I'm sure your'll agree.

Umph, anything that can be sent to help pass the time - or adequately resourced for the days ahead?

You get your chargers and stuff? I doubt people you work with would have issues getting you stuff. Probably a pair of walking slippers to wander the halls/go to the rest areas for a change of scenery. Eight weeks is a very long time.

Able to order in food? Hospital food can be bland.

I can't leave my room because immunosuppression, not to mention that half the time I'm hooked to a machine that prevents me going even as far as the en-suite bathroom. Food is actually pretty good here, though, as I guess it has to be for the same reasons.

Well if you ever get seriously bored, I do have a copy of War and Peace floating around...

I never got past page 10. And that's the introduction.

Wishing strength and power.

Any chance for some entrainment there, or there's no time for that?

Besides being at a hospital itself, I always found them incredibly boring

In original Russian, that's probably page 200

Life and Fate by Vassily Grossman is better and shorter (it's also a contender for my single favourite book). Don't be under any illusion though, it is long, it is Russian, it is hard work, and it is wonderful.

On to my only real point - sending @pjknibbs my best wishes. I'm thinking of you and wishing you well.

Glad you enjoy it. I have never really grown into the Russian literature. But I see it has its moments. Master and Margarita by Bulgakov only ever peaked my interest. And Strugatskie of course.

Well, just had a needle inserted into my back to drain a bunch of horrible brown fluid that's built up next to my lung. Going to take a while to get rid of it all...

Ewww! Mind, I guess you'll feel a hell of a lot more comfortable after it's fully drained.

Is it a side effect of the treatment?

Don't know yet, they took a couple of samples to send to the lab so will probably know more later on. So far we've drained nearly 3l of fluid and looks like there's more to come!
