Michael Collins, Apollo 11

Surely one of the biggest adventures in history. A place among the greatest explorers.

Been a few peeps that have passed away and haven't had a mention here, but this one I have to sadly announce.

Dusty Hill ZZTOP's bassist has passed away aged 72, currently there is no known cause, just that he died in his sleep. One of the best gigs I ever went to was a ZZTOP concert, 3 guys on a stage, nothing fancy, just them playing some great music to 80 thousand cheering fans.

R.I.P. Dusty.

It appears that Dusty is to be replaced by his guitar tech, as per his request for the concert he had to pull out of, due to the pain he was suffering in his hip.

Sean Lock aged 58, Comedian and writer, died today. I first came across him with his radio sitcom "15 storeys high" on BBC radio 4 while driving home from work in the 1990s. Another one I'll miss (along with Linda Smith) who have died too young.

Yeah, I saw that earlier--8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown just won't be the same without him. Sad loss.

The group made some decent music, maybe not to everyone's tastes.

Stil, its sad that she died and young as well.

RIP

Given the nature of this forum, thought there'd be a few people interested to hear that Sir Clive Sinclair has died aged 81:

I wonder how many of us owe our initial interest in gaming to the ZX Spectrum? I know I do. RIP and Godspeed, Sir Clive.

Sorry to see he's died. Brought the pc to the people, first ever programing was on a friend's zx81. A spectrum would have been first computer if there hadn't been a six month delay. His products were always innovative but not as successful as they should have been. ( pocket calculator, zx80, zx81, Spectrum, QL, pocket tv, Z88 and the C5)

Shane Warne has passed away from a suspected heart attack. He was younger than me. Damn...
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

A couple of people who should be listed in this thread.

David Boggs, who died the other day, aged 71. He was the co-inventor Ethernet.

Cliff Stanford has died, aged 67, founder of Demon Internet.

I thought you might have gotten confused be fellow cricketer Rodney Marsh aged 74. But I guess not
His death came less than 24 hours after fellow great Rod Marsh died in hospital, having suffered a heart attack last week.

Yes younger than me too, was there any warning or out of the blue?

It was a suspected heart attack, and out of the blue. He'd been on holiday at the time. Still, he did more in his 52 years than most of us could ever hope to manage, no matter how long our mortal tenure.

And yeah, Ormac, I saw his countryman's death was just the day before. :(
