Just installed this about 30 times, and keep getting the same standard problems: equipment docks with unnamed wares for sale, that cost 28 credits... and wares from scripts I'm using don't show up (i.e. jumpdrive kits: the station has no products listed.

I use the plugin manager, and version 1.3 of the game (runs perfectly...whereas 1.4 and 2.01 crash before leaving the initial loading screen.

Tried to search for an older version of this, but really cant spend hours going through 100 pages of threads.

So, would be nice to be told what to do :P Tried both versions from the OP :<

the blank wares for 28 credits is a sign that EMP is not installed correctly.

the blank wares means that its using a ware thats not in the data files.

i wouldn't worry about an older version, as it only edits the wares file, the new version should work with older versions, theo nly differences u will get the few small changes that happened in the new patch.

are you running any mods ?

and have you check that its installed correctly, there should be a fake patch in the game, u could use the mod manager to check if it exists

Well, I just uninstalled everything, and am reinstalling using the plugin manager.

Worked, guess I'm just a nab then :/

Thanks for the help, and thanks for your many many excellent scripts :)

I'm jumping back in to X3, but I haven't been active for a long while. I tried to download all of Cycrow's mods including this EMP, but everything I get from the link: http://x3.ircwhore.co.uk/ comes up as not found. Is his mods still available? Perhaps somewhere else?

Thanks

Thanks much. I found the mirror later in another post. However I don't see anything for your g15 lcd applet at that mirror. Where can I find that? I was looking forward to using that. Thanks so much for your great work. I've always liked what you've done for this game. :)

Not sure if it's this or Salvage Claim Software (or maybe Bail System Extension), but one of the two is causing super weird stuff to happen in my game. For example, I just saw a Kha'ak Scout dock at a shipyard, and a group of Paranid just started attacking a Boron station for no reason.

I have Xtended and the latest Bonus Pack installed.

Hey LV where is the post showing what the prices are for the wares? Or should it be obvious? lol

It's neither SCS or BSE causing the weirdness you've seen.

As a follow on to my above question, how do I add custom wares to my script, and do I set the price of it or is it set by the game?

Sorry for all the questions, I've just never thought about adding a ware before, any script I've made has used existing wares..

it depends what method you use to create you wares.

if you use EMP, then its just like the existing wares, as all EMP does, is add aload of free wares to the game for scripts to use

I wrote it to the technical support forum before, but there weren't much help for me, because I use scripts. Arnak and CBJ said that I must post it to there.

I am playing X-TREME game start, I don't use mods, but I use the following scripts: Advanced Jumpdrive 1.5 by Cycrow, Mercenaries Guild 2.90 by Cycrow, BBS Extras 1.61 by Cycrow, Xenon Migration 1.40 by Cycrow, Khaak Capture Plugin 1.01 by Anarkis Federation and Community Extended Mod Pack 2.01 by Cycrow/AalaarDB. I also have the bonus pack 3.1.07.

My problem is:In the plot, I escort the Terracorp Convoy. It started from Home of Light, and it is now in Paranid Prime. In Ore Belt we were under attack by Khaaks, but we won. Now, Saya stopped in the North-west part of Paranid Prime, very close to the western gate, and the other ships are still flying around her. I stopped about 150 metres from Saya and waited about 2 or 3 minutes, while SETA 10x was active. I haven't got much time, so I saved the game in the Paranid Shipyard. When I leave the station, I am about 23.kilometres away from Saya. I activate the SETA and the autopilot, to get closer to Saya's stopped ship. When I am about 16 kilometres away from her, the game freezes, the music is repeat itself, and it take lot of minutes to get back to the desktop, open the task manager and close the X3, because it 'doesn't reply'.

Edited: I also use script Fight Command Software Mk3 and GAIUS.
The problem doesn't appear if I don't activate autopilot and/or don't look straight Saya's ship.

Edited 2:My game version is 2.5, my sound card is integrated 7.1.
The problem randomly appears inside the 16 km range.

i too get this game frozen with sound looping error... i also have v2.5 with only EMP & XTM 0.7.3.... it seems EMP is not compatable with V2.5 update.

Game works fine if i remove EMP (but no other scripts work either)

Tried EMP with a Vanilla copy with update 2.5 installed and get same problem occuring.... EMP is NOT compatable with V 2.5

@Nothing better2do
Minor issue: DO NOT INSTALL EMP WITH XTM.

XTM has it's OWN copy of EMP. XTM has NO compatiblility issues with 2.5. XTM has it's own problems with things.

Also, Install the Bonus Pack. Even if you don't select any scripts to install, it will install fixed files for some things that were originally broken. Like the Universal Trader bug that caused the game to freeze.

@Kari91
What you are experiencing has nothing to do with the EMP mod.

It DOES sound like a problem with Gaius. I suggest you post a report there and see if the author can find out whats going south.

Hi, couple of questions...

I'm updating one of my scripts to resolve a conflict (CLS Mk. 2 is using the ware slot I was), so I want to change from standard ES ware to an EMP ware (or even a custom ware is cycrow's installer).

Firstly, is there an up-to-date list of what ware slots are available (the list on page one of this thread has a 'last updated' stamp of Apr. 11, 2006)?

Secondly, I want my ware to show up as a ship extension in equipement docks, not as 'goods', is this possible? (and if so, how?) (and if not, is there any way to do this?)

Thirdly, I tried using lib.cycrow.addware and lib.cycrow.keepstock.add to maintain stock levels of my ware and it didn't work, but when I changed to lib.cycrow.xfp.addware on its own, it worked. Which should I use with EMP (if any) and what's the correct format?

Lastly, I want my ware to be available in all Equipment Docks, not just race specific ones, lib.cycrow.addware and lib.cycrow.xpf.addware don't seem to support 'null' for the race parameter, is the only way (with the addware scripts) to specify every race individually?

Thanks for any help!

Extension slots are VERY rare, and are mostly used up.

EMP wares won't show up as software updates (since the 1.4 patch fixed that :(), only as goods.

Hi Jakesnake5,

Thanks for the reply.

So basically, the only solution I have is to use a custom ware in Cycrow's installer (rather than an EMP slot) and it *has* to be classed as 'goods'?

Just looks so lame when all the other software is listed under 'Ship Extensions' and mine is in 'Goods'... :( If anyone knows of a way to change this, please let me know!

Anybody got any info on the Cycrow libs, don't want to bother him too much if someone else can help!
