Since your development is doing quite well how about some new weapontechnology.
Missile cruiser.
IBCM (Intercontinental balistic Crouse Missile)
This Rocket is launched from the sector navigation menue, by selecting the enemy Target on the Map and accept the launch order.
It could reach any target within the sector.
It could also be launche remotly by console command.
Once launched it will automaticly trying to avoid enemy fire.
Therfore it has its own small shield.
The IBCM could be ordered withe different Warheads (nuclear, EMP etc.)
What do you think can anyone do this ?

That sentence alone makes me wanna cry...tears of joy .Moxy wrote: I'll ask Mehrunes for some cooperation regarding the M6 mod as I'm fond of it as well.
Great news, man. I would like to volunteer as a beta-tester!
And then let me think about a good name....
- Argon Achilles (greek word for "pain")
- Argon Aegle (greek for "light, radiance, glory")
- MY FAVORITE: Argon Agamemnon (greek for "very steadfast")
- Argon Apollo (greek word for "strong")
- Argon Caliope (greek word for....I got no idea ^^)
- Argon Daedalus ("curiously wrought")
- Argon Deimos ("terror" )
- Argon Hades ("unseen" --> maybe deliver it with a cloaking device )
- Argon Nemesis ("retribution, righteous anger")
- Argon Phobos ("fear")
- Argon Prometheus ("foresightful")
- Argon Thanatos ("death")
and so on

Those are all great suggestions except they belong to the Paranid more or less.
The Argon use of Greek Mithology is more on par with their western translations (Titan/Colossus/Centaur), except for the Atlas class which isn't even ingame yet.
Come to think of it, all are more or less bound to their ingame sizes, Mammoth and such.
Bit vague how I'm trying to explain this but I hope it will be clear enough.
Ehrm...
Well, I guess Achilles-class would do....fits the bill more or less.
Hmmm

*grin* Yeah...like any captain would serve on it when that's the classname, hahaha.
Ok, Achilles is exit...totally forgot about that 'little' detail, I got stuck on the Hektor-part.

To be honest I liked the first version more. It looked a bit like a submarine, with the command bridge as highest point of the structure.Moxy wrote:Golem... That one MUST go the Pirates!!!...I'll do my best to create a ship which excells at uglyness for it.

But at least it's your mod and it's excellent work anyway!
I also thought about the melting with Mehrune's M6-upgrade mod: He gave most of the corvettes one more shield slot. For instance my argon centaur has 4x 125MW --> 525MW. So my suggestion is to give the M7 at least 2x 1GJ shields. Of course with variation based on the race. Split ships always have less shields .

Now you've done it, plz don't ever post in this topic again! To be honest I liked the first version more. It looked a bit like a submarine, with the command bridge as highest point of the structure.
Imo both versions are still a no-go....someting is missing and that might very well be the part that makes you say 'Ooooh I want to have that ship in my fleet'.
Then again, I want to finish this up so I can start on the Split cause it annoys the crap out of me that all their big ships look so much alike.

Believe me when I say that the first version felt like "I need this" to me, really!Moxy wrote:Now you've done it, plz don't ever post in this topic again! To be honest I liked the first version more. It looked a bit like a submarine, with the command bridge as highest point of the structure.

But on the other hand you're right, something was missing, in the aft part of the first version. The front was ok, also the middle section, but the engine section looked like just a smaller version of the M1/M2....

Names:
All these are keeping with the naming conventions set forth by Egosoft.
Argon are consistent with job (Discoverer) or size (Titan) except Centaur which doesn't fit IMO, Boron are of course fish, Paranid are mythological gods/heroes, Split are deadly creatures, and the Teladi use bird names.
Argon Manticore (Well if Centaur is half-man half-horse why not?)
Boron Piranha (any fish would do i suppose)
Paranid Phobos (Fear sounds appropriate (thanks CO. Dragon Corp))
Split Wyrm (it is an ancient and very large dragon)
Teladi Eagle (could be a hawk, but eagles are generally bigger)
Edited: the Split Wyvern would be a smaller dragon, not a bigger one so i went with Wyrm instead.

Could the parents of the little Argon girl, Suzie, please claim her sealed jar of remains?
She didn't mind the gap and ended up vapourized!

Well, daidalos/daedalus is greek mythologie.
I would be honoured to be named after a ship class.
This looks awesome. Really good job. I alsways wanted something like that for X2. I´m really looking forward to the release.
Now the technical part. You could raise the shield-capacity to 2GJ.
1GJ is too weak, imho. And bring down the docking bay to max. 4 ships. Cargo is fine.
This is better than that.
The first version really looks like a hunter. Small and deadly. The bigger version looks heavier, slower and more immobile.

Below a pic with the 3 current versions of the Argon M7 (currently named Fluffy-class after one of my cats, soon to be renamed into it's service name, yet to be decided upon by The Goner Madpriest sect.).
Version 3 is somewhat of semi-serious....in case ES unlocks the
"MakeaApocalypsefromscratch"-code, the Argon are at least prepared for it with their Boomer aka Typhoon.
My understanding atm is thumbs up for 1, down for 2 yes?
Then I'll finalize the first and blow up the 2nd, unless someone thinks otherwise.

(The textbaloons are optional and only on the Deluxe-versions).

I like number 3 as well, but it seems to me to be a bit thin it the foresection. Maybe a compromise between number 2 and 3 for the width of the front would make it look a bit beefier (read: tougher).

Is that a good or a bad thing?Number 1's front part reminds me of the Vagyr Missile Frigate from Homeworld 2...
I played HW2 but atm my body is very angry with my mind, telling it to shut up and go sleep
I'll make just 1 version in the future *grin*, keeps things way less complicated.
Version 3 has a completely different look from the other 2, but the fact that it's front is just a flat-plain makes for many possibilities on it's use.

After I've taken a looooong look at the three picture, I would say number three is the best.
And maybe the mentioned "thin front section" is that kind of feature that makes it special.
But again, I must say, number three reminds me at a submarine even more than number one. And yes, this IS good .
/edit: Took another look....and now number two is my favorit . Ok ok....so I agree with dgn master, a compromise between number two and number three would be optimal!

The only reason i mentioned it is due to the fact that although #3 does look superior to the other pregnant whale models when you reduce the front down that far it reminds me of a fighter and not so much a frigate.CO. Dragon Corp wrote:snip... And maybe the mentioned "thin front section" is that kind of feature that makes it special. ...snip
Once it is scaled to the size pictured next to the centaur it may make no difference though and may indead look like the frigate model we would like to see.
