The fourth installment of my first COMPLETE mod for X2 the threat v1.4!!!!!!!!
Harlock's replacement sounds v2.0 sound mod is built into this mod and the readme from it is included with this mod for reference. I started modding X2 by messin around with the sounds and some effects and I ended up making a total mod with replacement ships and sounds. This mod would not be possible without the help and advice of several very knowledgeable persons.
Much appreciation goes out to DeadlyDA for his help and wealth of information about modding X2 and also 3D modelling:-) If ya have a question that you can't find an answer for about modding X2 then you should ask Deadly but don't drive em crazy lol!!! I would also like to thank all the featured modders that have allowed me to place their works in this mod and also especially anyone that downloads and enjoys this intense labor and learning experience of almost two years now.
I would also like to thank some very smart people like doubleshadow and altor and checkertwo for making their editing and import export programs for 3DSMAX and GMAX. Without the efforts of these people there would be no mods for x2 and this mod especially would not exist without them.

The disco is fast and it carries APAC, pulse lasers, and mass drivers so it's very dangerous to other M5 craft and especially dangerous when there is more than one of them.

The supernova is heavily armed and has a rear turret for missile defense and picking off smaller ships and drones. The nova is slow and it doesn't carry GHEPTS but it's a big threat to fighters and corvettes either by itself or in groups.

The banshee is fast and has six front gun mounts which can hold all the latest fighter scale weapons. Cheap to replace and very maneuverable. Only downside is that it doesn't carry GHEPTS. HIGHLY dangerous to any ship or station.

The experimental shuttle or Xshuttle for short is the fastest and most dangerous ship of it's class. No other ship can match it's speed or firepower besides the split starfighter. Highly maneuverable and carries a lot of cargo. You can deploy two or four of these to a sector and never have to worry about pirates or khaaka taking them out.

The express is the argon TP class of ship and it's somewhat slow but atleast it can carry a pulse laser or mass driver in the rear turret.

The runabout is the fastest ship of it's class and holds a large amount of cargo. It's meant to be a military transport ship as well as a medium range scout and station defender if necessary. Gun mounts use some conventional weapons and some of the latest fighter scale weapons like the lasertower weapon. There is atleast one of this ship assigned to every argon trading station in the game and you will see it running cargo for those stations in game.

I've always wanted to fly the sonra but the default parts were smashed up for the storyline... well I pulled out the dents and dumped a ton of bondo on the holes in the body and now the sonra is ready to fly again. This is probably the smallest M6 in the game. Fast and very maneuverable it's only weakness is too few turret guns and low shields but it makes for an interesting ride thats for sure. The sonra sports two main guns and one gun for each of it's top and bottom turrets. Docks one M5 craft externally in the lower rear area. This ship can only be bought from one particular argon eq dock in sector interworlds. I thought that would be far enough away from the player so as not to ruin the plot initially.

The centaur has finally been replaced by something far far better. I was inspired to make this ship after noticing that rei never released his xenon M6. Basically the overall design is very similar to rei's xenon m6 but the front mesh is a heavily modded version of a mesh by RA. The centaur is heavily armed and maneuverable. Not too fast but it's meant to attack head on and clean up any leftovers with it's rear turret. I've seen this ship last for longer than expected against any khakka capship and against xenon capships as well. Docks two M5 ships externally.

The collossus is the carrier ship of the argons but it's a lot bigger than the default ship and looks way better too:-) Front guns can fire two antimatter cannons so it's dangerous if it has to be but it's primary role is to serve as a carrier for smaller ships. This ship is slow and turns like a pig but it's turret mounted weapons are very efficient at defense.

The titan lives up to it's name in appearance and firepower. The front area was designed with the idea that if all else failed it would serve a greater purpose at ramming speed. The titan carries both antimatter cannons and phase cannons in the main gun mounts so it can take down a station or another capship quickly. It's turret guns are aggressively laid out along the ship so attack head on or with a slight flanking maneuver with this ship for best results. This ship is slow but maneuvers better than the collossus, carries five ships externally.

The durango is a light carrier class ship capable of carrying 30 ships internally. It's fast and maneuverable but lightly shielded however it can fire a quantum torpedo. This ship works well as a fighter transport or for picking up a bunch of new ships that you just bought in another sector and delivering them to wherever. Don't expect this ship to survive very long in a big battle without some capship escorts.

Exeters work best in pairs or with a titan. Carries 2 main guns but it can fire both the antimatter cannon and the phase cannon. Dangerous to stations and effective against a single capship or multiple fighters and corvettes. The exeter won't last long in a big battle by itself without help but it works great for clearing out pirate bases.

Ah the sovereign... able to clear a sector of all ships and stations all by itself yet it's meant to be an exploratory ship capable of deploying stations and carries 35 smaller ships internally. This ship is fast and highly dangerous but it is only deployed in sector getsu fune so don't expect the argons to send one after you lol. The ship loads very slow in game so expect an in game delay whenever you look at this ship or bring up it's stats after targeting it. The slowdown has something to do with the complexity of the UV maps for each bod part. The total scene file is far less polys than the old ed giddings version and I've broken it down into many parts but it still loads slow. Cost a LOT so if it gets blown up your gonna go broke replacing it. There are no downsides to this ship it's more than a match for anything in the game.

The octopus is very fast and highly maneuverable but it's shields are very weak. It may have an extra gun advantage over most other M5 craft but it's cargo space is limited, best to use this ship in large numbers for attacking other ships instead of by itself.

The mako is an average M4 class ship but it has good cargo space and mounts pulse lasers. This is a good interceptor ship but it's shields are weak so expect to replace it often if used in great numbers.

The barracuda is fast and agile with four guns up front vs the default only having two guns. The shields are weak though so it won't last long in a fight unless your good at avoiding enemy fire or fancy yourself some kind of ace pilot.

The dolphin is a very VERY slow ship but it can carry a lot of cargo. Mounts a pulse laser or ion disruptor in the rear turret. Most people buy this ship and use it as storage space in their trading stations or eq docks but I've eliminated the need for this ship in that situation with the advent of the teladi mobile storage unit.

This replacement of the default is much better:-) the hydra is fast and maneuverable but not offensively armed. It has two main guns but it's turret guns are too few. This ship is better used for missile defense or as a long range refueler for capships. The overall appearance of this ship is much preffered to that default "red lobster" ship lol.

Mostly default parts for this ship too but the rear area is by me and the bridge too. I put the default docking port back in since it did look good and I think most people missed it. Took forever to get that rear part to match up with the docking port though. Well it's a TL ship so it's slow but it's faster than the argon TL. Carries APPC guns in the turrets and pulse lasers too as well as conventional guns for a ship of it's class.

Boron Shark: aka mon calimari MC85a Independence

The shark is a huge ship barely fits through a gate. This version of it has the docking bays in the correct positions lol the older model was mirrored. This ship is slow and turns like a pig but it's meant to be a carrier, docks 100 smaller ships internally. The one advantage this ship has over most other ships of it's class is the additional turret guns on the left and right turrets making defensive broad side attacks more effective.

I went back to the default parts for most of this ship but some areas like the gun mounts are made by me and the bridge as well. The ray is fast and very maneuverable. With four front turret guns it's more aggressive than the default. Capable of carrying the ion cannon in every gun mount means this ship is very dangerous. I took down a xenon k with this ship easily with only the front and side turrets:-) This ship wouldn't last long in a big fight because of it's shields but if it has some help it would dominate the battlefield.

I really wanted to continue using the naboo royal starship in this mod but it would take me months to make my own and I had really screwed up andre's mesh of it so I decided to come up with something completely new. This new version looks great and I designed it with the appearance of a ship that could take off and land from a planet as well as fly around in the atmosphere of a planet. The goner ship is a transport ship for goners so it's useless in combat but it does carry mosquito missiles for missile defense.

The goners needed a bigger presence in the game and what better way to do that than with a TP class goner tour ship lol. This ship was made right after I made the new goner ship so they appear similar but the starship is bigger and sports a rear turret. However the turret has no guns it's just a great viewport for passengers:-) Like the goner ship this ship fast and very maneuverable but useless in combat. I does hold mosquito missiles for missile defense though.

The pegasus is the fastest M5 ship in the game capable of reaching speeds as high as 1000kph. Highly maneuverable and capable of carrying the pulse laser it is a very dangerous ship not only because of the guns it carries but also due to possible high speed collision with a target. This ship doesn't hold much in the cargo bay but you can easily complete one of those taxi bbs missions with it.

The pericles is a good interceptor ship with good speed and agility but lacking in the cargo space area. It can carry pulse lasers as well as conventional guns for it's class.

The default perseus had that stupid looking default gun mount superglued to the top of the canopy which really bugged me for some reason. This replacement perseus has the third gun mounted in the nose where it looks and works a lot better. This ship looks faster and meaner too:-) The perseus is fast but it only has three gun mounts so it's not gonna win any major battles. It also has a small cargo space so don't expect to carry much with it however it does use the lasertower weapon and the pulse laser as well as the APSG and BPSG so it can provide some punch to whatever it faces.

This replacement looks and works a lot better than the default thanks to RA's outstanding TS ship designs and the front mounted gun allowing better use of the mining laser. Fast and well shielded this ship is a great TS but it's maneuverability is low and it takes a long time to speed up or slow down so watch out when your docking at a ship or station.

The hermes is one of the faster TP class ships in the game. Doesn't have much cargo space and manuevers poorly but it can mount a pulse laser in the rear turret as well as some conventional guns for it's class.

This ship is still using most of it's default parts but I made the engines and upgraded the front gun mounts to use TWO guns instead of just one. Also the turrets use newer guns. Because of it's smaller size the nemesis can dodge enemy fire a little better than other M6. It's fast and agile but has little cargo space as usual for paranid ships. Docks one M5 craft externally. The nemesis was the premiere OOS (out of sector) combat patrol ship but I suspect that many people will replace it with the new argon centaur for that job.

This replacement ship uses mostly default parts but there are some custom parts in there made by me. The new oddy is much larger than the default and carries more firepower too. The oddy is fast but she turns and rolls real slow and has little cargo space. Capable of firing either the antimatter cannon or the phase cannon from her main gun mounts she is a dangerous ship to stations and other capships. The oddy has long the first choice for an assault type destroyer because it can carry the GPSG in most of it's turrets but now it has even more lethal guns at it's disposal and it can dock five ships externally in the rear just above the engine area.

I came up with a completely new deisgn for the zeus based on some inspirations I got from looking at the perseus for too long lol. This zeus is much bigger and barely fits though a gate. It's slow and turns slow but it has better firepower and the docking point is in a better position. Although there are two default docking ports on the ship, only one of them really works. Hopefully someone someday will find a way to make more than one docking port per ship work in X2. Docks 81 ships internally and carries the antimatter cannon in her main gun mounts. the turret guns on this ship are laid out in a defensive manner because this ship is meant to serve as a carrier. The zeus will last longer in a big fight if it's escorted by an M2 like the oddy or the achilles.

The achilles was made around the same time as the new zeus so they look very simiar in style. This ship is meant to be used as a light destroyer, escort ship for the zeus, and as a quick response ship to threats in other sectors. The achilles can fire either the antimatter cannon or the phase cannon from it's one main gun mount but only having one main gun means it's not very effective as an assault ship against stations or other capships. Also this ship has no rear turret thus the name achilles (thanks duendote for helping with the name) so it's not very good at defending itself from attacks from the rear. By itself it won't last long in a fight but if paired with another capship it can really do some damage. It docks three smaller ships externally on the underside in special simultaneous quick launch positions.

The mandalay is slow for an M5 but it can carry a few more gun types than other M5 craft. Carries the APSG and the pulse laser as well as conventional guns for it's class.

The bayamon is one of the most dangerous ships of it's class. It's appearance is particularly threatening and it's gun mount arrangement almost guarantees it will hit something in front of it even if it misses it's intended target. Slow for an M4 the bayamon makes up for it's weaknesses by carrying more powerful weapons than most M4 craft such as the mass driver, the ion disruptor and the pulse laser.

The orinoco is one of the more dangerous versions of the M3 class. Carries GHEPTS in four front gun mounts as well as many other conventional guns for it's class. Mounts pulse lasers up front and in the rear turret. I wanted to make this ship look like it was a bunch of hacked up parts stuck together so it would look more like some smugglers and pirates had a hand in it's design and not just the teladi lol. The pirate ship is fast and better shielded than the default ship. It carries better guns too including the pulse laser. Not as easy to capture or destroy with a small fighter anymore, has good cargo space and it's rear turret mounts two guns instead of just one so it's better at missile defense.

The phantom was made to look like a resurrected default centaur with bigger engines. It's fast agile and very dangerous. Carries four APPC up front along with newer gun types as well as conventional guns for it's class. GHEPT is mountable in almost every gun mount, this ship could match a teladi osprey in firepower and it usually takes a lot of fighting to bring it down. Docks two M5 craft externally, you will see this ship throughout the pirate sectors but the default combat AI isn't very good at using it. Would be nice if some scripts were adjusted to use it better.

It's about time the jedi starfighter ETA-2 made it into X2 lol. I had to work with this ship for a loooooong time to get it's polycount low enough and looking just right. Very fast and agile it of course lacks good shields because the split don't use suffcient shielding on their ships. Mounts the pulse laser and mass driver as well as conventional guns for it's class.

The scorpion is fast and agile and has good cargo space. Works great as a fast interceptor ship but won't last long in a fight. Mostly used as a fast courier ship for picking up crystals to ferry back to soler power plants. Mounts pulse lasers mass drivers and AHEPT among other conventional guns for it's class as well.

I made this replacement ship from some ideas I got from looking at the split dragon for too long a time lol. It's a light and fast looking ship which is exactly what the mamba should look like. Carries four guns up front and has great speed and agility. It's only weakness is the poor shielding. Carries the same front guns as the viper.

The viper is a great match against the argon supernova. Plenty of heavy firepower up front and a rear turret to fend off missiles it's hard to beat in a one on one fight. I wanted to make a heavy looking M3 class for the split and at the same time make it look similar to the mamba to keep it more consistent. mounts pulse lasers and mass drivers lasertower weapons too. Having a few of these onboard a carrier will go a long way if your using wings of fighter to do the fighting for you.

I've always wanted to fly that ol buck rogers starfighter in a pc game lol so here it is:-) This ship is the only other M3 class ship that can match the argon Xshuttle. It has six guns up front and carries the same guns the Xshuttle carries. The only difference is the slightly weaker shielding and slightly decreased agility. A very dangerous M3 it can take out a station or capship given enough time.

The caiman looks almost exactly like the paranid demeter on purpose in order to give the impression that at one time the split and the paranid had shared a great deal of trade and technology with each other. The default raptor didn't quite live up to it's name so this replacement came about. Much more heavily armed than the default. Fast and somewhat agile for a ship of it's class the shields are weak as usual for split ships but this ship can fire four antimatter cannons from it's main gun mounts. It's easily a station killer all by itself but the rear turret of this ship is the most dangerous part of it sporting TEN gun mounts, docks 150 ships internally.

I used mostly default parts for this ship but some small details are made by me:-) The python is one of the fastest M2 ships in the game and this version sports some major firepower. Four main guns that can fire both the anti matter cannon and the phase cannon, turret guns thare are very efficiently and aggressively laid out on the hull and the rear turret mounts EIGHT guns. This ship fits in well with the split tactic of hit and run and shoot down the persuers with rear guns lol. Fast and agile it's shields are the only weakness. Docks four ships externally in the rear center of the ship.

Oh you know it had to happen lol someone HAD to put the stardestroyer in this game:-) DeadlyDA did a great job making this ship so I just touched her up a little with some parts from another fine mesh by stephen meissl and added some complex details to the mix. This ship is probably the most dangerous ship in the game if it's pointed directly at you. The front turret is carrying EIGHTEEN GUNS and then the four main guns can mount antimatter cannon or phase cannon. The SSD was meant to be a forward attacking ship so when using it even against multiple capships just head right for them one at a time never mind trying to wedge between two of them. You can take out one capship very quickly and move on to the next before the shields get low. This ship is fast and agile for it's size and contrary to other split designs very well shielded. If too many enemy ships get on your tail thats it your dead so keep the nose pointed toward the enemy as much as possible.

Similar to the default ship but this one has a rear turret. Slow and... well it's slow lol so don't expect to get somewhere anytime soon with this ship. Has great cargo space and good agility, mounts pulse lasers and lasertower weapons in the front as well as ion disruptors and APSG. Rear turret mounts pulse lasers and mass drivers too. this is a good missile defense ship to have around a carrier or destroyer but watch out for friendly fire with those APSG.

The warbird is one of RA's best designs... made to look like the terran wraith from starcraft. This ship is fast and agile with good cargo space. This ship is perfect for the vulture slot and RA did a great job with this design. Having two turrets on a TS ship is much more useful than just one. Survivability is much better for the player flying this ship and it can carry lots of cargo but it's very slow and hard to maneuver.

It's a flying gas can!!! This ship is a sorely needed idea in X2. The MSU is automated meaning you can't get into it and fly it. It's controlled by remote, tell it where to go and it goes there. No room for life support or a cockpit but plenty of cargo space in fact a lot of cargo space. This ship is very slow only gets up to 55kph and it turns real slow but you don't have to spend credits on upgrading it's speed or rudder since they are already maxed out. Buy one of these and dock it at your carrier or destroyer and fill it full of spare guns, ecells, spare equipment. Since it's an M4 it can use a jumpdrive in case of emergency. Some other uses include docking it at your trading station or eq dock and using scripts to keep taking a certain number of items away and storing them in itself so you can keep assigned frieghters busy gathering stuff:-) No more need for those slowpoke high priced boron dolphins.

This replacement has much better firepower than the default osprey and it's longer and more stretched out so it looks like it might make it through an atmospheric flight or two. Mounts GHEPT in the front and newer guns on all the turrets as well as other conventional guns for it's class. LOTS of cargo space for an M6 so it could be used as a long range capship refueler.

The condor finally looks good... gawd I worked on this one for a long time before I was happy with it lol. I threw in a lot of details on the docking area and I made something that looked like an auxilary docking point on the top near the center since one user liked the idea of putting a docking point there on his version of the ship. It's too bad this game only supports one internal docking point per capship. The condor is slow and big but it maneuvers well. The left and right turrets mount one additional gun so it can be used to broadside defensively a bit. The shields on the condor are some of the best for it's class so it will take a lot to kill it. Docks a measly 60 ships internally and I can't increase that for some reason. One particular tactic I like to use against large groups of fighters with this ship is what I like to call the "baseball bat" maneuver hehe:-) Just swing the ship around wildly smacking into those fighters as much as possible. The deck of the condor is so wide it can't be missed so those fighers are gonna get hit out of the park. This ship is able to fire the quantum torpedo so it's much more dangerous than it looks.

The old phoenix MKII was too darn big so I scaled this one down a bit and came up with a more complex looking docking and cargo exchange area in the rear. I toned down her main gun mounts to two from four. The teladi already have the firebird they don't need the same four gun mounts on another ship besides the teladi are supposed to be less aggressive than other races lol. This new phoenix is smaller but still slow yet maneuverable somewhat. It can mount either phase cannon or antimatter cannon in the main gun mounts and it's turrets are better places especially the rear turret so missile and figher defense will be improved. Cargo space is huge and it can dock five smaller ships externally. The docking points were meant to be simultaneous quick launch but that didn't quite work out for all five slots lol.

The design of the firebird hasn't changed much from skyroguens original. I touched it up quite a bit through the different versions but it's still close to his design. This is the only fast destroyer the teladi have. Carries antimatter and phase cannon in the main gun mounts and each turret is carrying four guns so it's very dangerous. Could hold it's own against the khaaka capships or the xenon and fires quantum torpedos too so it's definitely a station killer. Docks five smaller ships externally.

The Xenon L is kinda like the ship that the best xenon combat AI is assigned to or like an ace fighter type of ship. I wanted it to be a fast and dangerous opponent and it had to have both rei and RA's design styles mixed in. This ship has a front turret thats right a fighter with a front turret lol. Those front turret guns can focus on other targets while the main guns focus on you! Carries GHEPT in the main mounts and BHEPT or less in the turret mounts as well as pulse laser all around and many other conventional guns for it's class. This ship is fast and very agile, it's shields are better than other M3 ships and it's flat wide profile makes shooting it down difficult at certain angles for the player anyway.

The xenon J is a big slow moving carrier that exists soley to dominate a sector with the sheer number of launched ships. It has four guns for every turret and each turret mounts GPPC or less. The J is heavily shielded but it's so slow at accelerating that it can't escape enemy fire. Attack it with more than one capship and it won't survive but atleast one of those capships will take a beating for sure. Docks 100 ships internally and usually escorted by a whole lot of xenon K ships.

The default K wasn't too bad but it was weak and so this replacement has been developed... the new K is a big fast moving cube shaped ship (think borg cube) it doesn't appear to have any propulsion systems but it does. The K uses advanced gravitic drives to move itself around. Makes it harder to tell which direction the ship is going or if it's moving at all which makes it more of a challenge to fight. There are four main guns on the front and they can mount either antimatter cannon or phase cannon. All turrets can mount up to GPPC guns. Equal death on all sides hehe:-) This ship is very dangerous and if you get jumped at the gate when first entering a xenon sector by a bunch of these ships you better hit the juice right away or those GPPC bolts will destroy you lol. Although the K can mount superguns in it's main gun mounts it's not assigned any in game so don't expect the xenon NPC ships to start firing antimatter blasts at you... for now. The design of this ship is somewhat of a weakness because it can't avoid enemy fire or missiles very well. The blasts just smack right into it lol but it's heavily shielded so take a heavy ship with you if you intend to fight more than one of them.

The pulse laser has a high rate of fire but uses up energy fast. It's supposed to give the player about a five second constant burst before the energy bank bottoms out. I've noticed that the combat AI doesn't take advantage of the high rate of fire but instead fires the gun more slowly to balance the energy usage with the charge rate. Because of it's rate of fire this weapon should be very useful in capping or capturing ships.

The heavy laser is certainly a match for the khaaka gamma kyon and looks better too so there is no need to worry about not being able to use gamma kyons in every ship lol. The heavy pulse laser is similar to the pulse laser but has a much lower rate of fire. If used in large numbers it can produce a large volume of fire clogging up the firing lanes between capships so anything that gets inbetween is hit as well.

The antimatter cannon is a big gun for capships to fire at each other constantly. Big battles are boring without big guns going off lol. With only two of these firing the shields of a capship or station will go down but not much. The rate of fire is adjusted so that the shields of the target can eventually recover if you don't get in close enough for your turret guns to fire at the target. It's more of a first strike type of gun but anything smaller than an M2 is gonna get toasted right away by the blast from this gun.

Oh crap this gun is the ultimate BFG in X2!!! Not only does the initial impact from the blast of this gun do some damage but the bullet is also ACTUALLY EXPLOSIVE!!! Thanks to doubleshadow for informing me that bullet type 32 is explosive as in explosive like a squash mine. If you fire four volleys of this gun at the same time it will almost completely take down a station or capship but it's rate of fire is really low only one round a minute so it's best used at it's max range and followed up by antimatter cannon blasts or the gunfire from your turrrets.

NEW FEATURES
All ships well just about all ships now have maneuvering thrusters modelled in and thruster graphics will show up whenever a ship turns or moves in any way.

Only large slow moving ships don't exibit the maneuvering thruster effect because the thruster graphics won't show up if a ship can't turn or pitch or roll at 1.2 or faster. There is also a reverse thrust graphic for almost every ship.

ALL 3D model files that were not made by DeadlyDA or CG author of the enterprise-E or Nadab Göksu & William Johansson authors of the blue star or other custom ships credited to other authors were orignally made by egosoft and used by myself and the other contributers for this mod and the other respective contributers used them for their own mods and personal use.
INSTALLATION
There are two main files for this mod, they are: Harlock's_TOP_GUN_MOD_v2.5 DAT and Harlock's_TOP_GUN_MOD_v2.5 CAT

Take these two files and copy them to your mods folder. If you don't know where that is...

Default DIRECTORY for X2 The Threat US ver1.4 C:\Program Files\Enlight\X2 - The Threat\mods

If the "mods" folder is not there don't worry about it just make that folder and call it mods, the game will recognize it's presence the next time you start it. MAKE SURE you name the folder mods and NOT mod or the pre launch screen for X2 will grey out the mod selection button.

MAKE SURE you have no other mods running and no other files from other mods installed in the t folder and the scripts folder BEFORE you install this mod!!!!!!

There is one other folder... "scripts" this folders will be there no matter what. Just copy the "init.topgun.text.xml" to the "scripts" folder in your game directory.

The only script NEEDED for this mod to work is the "init.topgun.text.xml" file... this file contains the references to the names and descriptions of all the custom and some of the replaced ships in this mod. It will run on startup of the game wether this mod is going or not so check your "scripts" folder to make sure there are no other files with the same name before you copy it over.

The only language file NEEDED for this mod to work is "447601.xml" this file is the descriptions and references of all custom and some replaced ships in this mod. It is activated by the init script mentioned above.
Check your "t" folder to make sure there are no other files with the same name before using this mod. The language file is compressed into the cat&dat files of this mod for easier loading but you can extract it with a program called X2Archiver if you want it but it's not necessary to do so in order to play the mod.
If you are using a different vesion of X2 besides the US version you will have to change the first two digits of the name of the language file from this mod to your coresponding language ID. For example the 44 in 447601 is the ID for the US version of X2. Your particular version of X2 depending on what language it is will use a different number like 49 or something like that. Check the egosoft scripts and modding forums for more info on language id.

Version 2.0 of the top gun mod made it to... 2731 downloads!!! before this new version came out. It's good to know that ppl like the mod and I hope everyone enjoys this latest version:-)

This mod was cool :D But when fireing the PPC's and ure outside the ship u can hear somewhat wierd plop plop sound, like the game tries to play a sound that isn't there... Or have i done somthing wrong? :?

what happen to the SQUASH Mines? Before they used to blow up in a chain reaction at the old broken gate, now I have to pick them out one by one. not only that, their detection radius has decreased, so I can no longer use a cargo container full of Sunrise Flowers as a decoy!

:P do you actually know what smoke is? its not just a product of fire, its just lots of left over particles of carbon (seeing as fire involves burning carbon compounds) rising up in the heat of the flames, but there are plenty of other ways you can get smoke,
and just as a question, how do you think the missiles are propelled forward through space? magic?
They will need to use some kind of reaction to produce a forward thrust, which will almost definately produce smoke, unless they have new uber-warp missiles or something :)

Its worth Registering lot of information does get doubled up between this board and shadowteks but there is lot of other x2 stuff there aswell! and if you had a probelm with the topgun mod as the main creator Harlock776 is a member so you would almost certainly get a quicker response :)

There is a very cool ship in this mod called Mobile Support Unit its one of the simplest Ideas I seen as a mod but works so well!

I will soon be releasing Ver 1.5 of my mod to fix some minor problems however I noticed that shadowtek's website is currently down for redesign so I have to get the file hosted somewhere else. My craptastic pctel modem doesn't wanna play nice and upload a 4mb file so I will have to get a new modem or upload from another location. I'll see if I can get it hosted on X2source or some place like that but it will be a few days.

I've been so busy with updating my mod that I didn't check the site or a lot of other sites for the last couple of days. Good to hear that it's working again:-) I've made some progress on ver 1.5 of the top gun mod... I only have a few ships left to change and a few to add. Once the modelling part is done I can add a new kind of missile and update my default galaxy map a little (the pirates will make some serious ship aquisitions and use them a lot hehe) and add a few more custom sounds and effects and get some permissions for usage of some recent ships from other mods and then it's upload time. If you liked the sovereign before then wait til you see her now:-) Hopefully I will have most of this done by the end of the weekend real life permitting.
