D2D files are corrupted. But I've seen a topic (HERE) about this issue, maybe it will help you.

HELP I cant download the Doubleshadows Editor It just comes up as "page not found" please help

For anyone having trouble installing the X2 TXT editor I found a link for the zlib and vbfiles you will need.

# X3TC-DS-VBRuntime_install.exe
# X3TC-DS-X2E_runtime2_install.exe

They are used in the X3 editors but they work.

Links are broken on FireFox for me, but they work with Chrome.

I'm trying to unpack some lib scripts (the ones with a ! as first character in name with .pck ext) from Steam version but cannot open them "Bad data in file".
Anyone knows how I can read those scripts?

Open any script .PCK format with Exscriptor and save it as XML.

Yay, it turned to work ! (required to start Exscriptor as Admin to be able to read game files, if another nut nut like me still plays this game and want to cheat by reading IA scripts :lol: )

I hopped this !ship.signal.attacked.pck script would contain the random bailing logic (trying to cheat by *dramatic voice* KNOWLEDGE) but no luck.

Anyway thanks a lot. Really.
